Whimsy Wednesday ~ on a Friday!

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. I have one final card to share this month, before we roll out the New Release at Whimsy Stamps and oh my goodness, I am so excited to share the New Release with you, but that'll have to wait. Right now, I want to show you a creation I made for one of my teamies at my new job. She's lovely and once I caught wind of the fact it was about to be her birthday, I wanted to whip up something special for her. Well nothing says 'special' quite like a personalised card does it? But as I'm new there, I don't know enough about her to personalise it to her likes etc, so I went for adding her name to the card. You can't get much more personalised than that now can you?! I've used a mix of Whimsy Stamps Dies to create this card.

It was whipped up one night after work very quickly as I knew it was her birthday within the next couple of days. So I learnt how to correctly spell her name and decided to base the design on that. I'd been looking through some of my lovely Making Cards & Papercrafts paper collections and saw this beautiful paper from the May 2019 edition and felt it would be such a nice base for this card. So I added the Birthday Wishes word dies and a little butterfly to finish the design. Amazing what that one tiny detail can do, it was all wrong until I added the wee butterfly, but as soon as I did, it was done. Finished, balanced. I'm really happy with it and it went down really well with my lovely colleague on her birthday.

I created the name element with our fabulous Whimsy Stamps large letter dies. They took a bit of lining up and measuring to get it all right, but was fun to try as I've seen this done a number of times and always loved the look! The Birthday and wishes word dies are Whimsy Stamps also and added the perfect element to this creation. The little butterfly was a gift from my lovely crafty pal Janine and I just love it! It's such a pretty one. Thank you Janine! I covered the butterfly in Wink of Stella, which doesn't show at all, but catches the light nicely in reality. I did the same with the wishes word die and I covered all the letters of Lee-Ann's name with the Wink of Stella too which really helped them to stand out from the background as these stealth designs are really subtle! Hehe. I added some gems to the wee butterfly to add that final touch. I tried adding some to the rest of the design, but the paper is so detailed they got lost, so I took them off. I'm still buzzing to have been featured in the 'one's to watch' section of Making Cards Magazine this month. Such a thrill! I did a lil' post on my Facebook page of this here. I really love their papers and sweet free images to create with. Perfect when colouring time is scarce and the latest one, the sweet wee mouse, is beyond adorable! I'm planning to make a baby card with that image, so watch this space!

I've just LOVED our August Whimsy Stamps release, we've had some truly adorable images in the line up and I'm so excited to share next months line up too. Have I ever said how much I love being a 'Whimsy Girl'?! I love this gig and feel seriously spoilt to get to play with these gorgeous images every month. Sigh, dream job! Hugs to you all and see you again really soon, with the September New Release. Hugs and happy crafting xoxo
