Sweet Stampin' - Let's Dance!
Hey there my lovely blog buddies, I hope you've all had good weeks. Mine has gone by in a blur, so much so, that I found myself burning the midnight oil last night trying to get this card finished for my DT post today. But oh my goodness, how sweet is this image! I've had this rubber stamp in my collection for a couple of years now and just love it, but isn't there something fabulous about digi's? Being able to resize them etc. So when I saw that Sylvia Zet had released her SCACD collection of images as digi's you know I snapped up just about every one! I LOVE these sweet images and if you didn't know this had happened, you can check them all out here in Sylvia's digital collection.
The stamp I have used is called Loli's Dance. I utterly love this image and it was such a perfect fit for our challenge this week at Sweet Stampin', because we are celebrating the beauty of movement with our 'Let's Dance' challenge. So crafty pals, pull out your ink and stamps and join us in a fabulous challenge this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
It's pouring here in Auckland, so not brilliant weather for taking photos. So the lighting in this isn't brilliant, but I think you still get the gist of the creation. Loli is still utterly enchanting as is her sweet Squirrel pal. I love his little tambourine, such a cute pair. My creation is very RED, so doesn't photograph particularly well, but it's very sparkly and pretty IRL. I've given Loli sparkly red shoes, and added Stickles to her rose in her hair. I used a Letraset Metallic Marker in silver to add the metallic sheen to the tambourine, Loli's necklace and on the fan. I found some red felt and diecut that into a rolled rose using the free die from Simply Cards & Papercraft Issue 137. The pretty flourish was a die from another magazine recently, so I used the same pearlescent black paper as my backing paper to cut that.
The base paper is a red glitter paper which I've used a large Go Create die Frilly #10 to cut and the two smaller black and red papers I cut from the same set but a smaller size. The music sheet I thought was a nice touch to go with the dancers and I cut a smaller layer of the same Go Create die and also a strip to run across the middle to anchor the ribbon. The diecut shape of the sentiment is from a LaLa Land set which I thought worked well with the shape of the card. I wanted to use a 'dance' related sentiment, but had nothing that fit that shape, so went instead for a simple Magnolia Sentiment. I think it works well.
I had some pretty organza ribbon in my stash which I thought would be lovely for this card. So I tied a triple bow (an adaptation of Jak Heath's Double Bow) which I just do an extra loop either side to create the triple bow. I added a little wax seal sticker I had in my stash from Panduro Hobby on the other side with a tail of ribbon and a sentiment to finish the card. Here's another pic which better shows the sparkle of the card.
Thanks for stopping in today, I love your visits. That's all for my DT make today. I'll be back with another crafty adventure really soon. I hope you'll come and join in the fun with our 'Let's Dance' challenge. I can't wait to see your creations and our lucky winner is in for a sweet surprise with a Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag up for offer. So I'll see you again soon. Big hugs, Wends x
