Fab 'n' Funky ~ Gorgeous Gingham

A warm hello to you all out there in the blogosphere. I'm here today with my Fab 'n' Funky Challenge DT creation. Our theme this week has been chosen by me, and those who know me (even a little bit) will know well that I have a bit of a love affair with gingham. It's all over my house! Red gingham in particular. It rarely makes it onto my cards however, which I like to remedy occasionally. So I chose 'Gorgeous Gingham' for our theme this week. This means very simply, that ANYTHING gingham on your creation will count for this challenge. It could be a little button, a tiny bow or delish gingham paper. It's your choice and I for one, cannot wait to see what you're inspired to create!

We are being sponsored by Whoopsidaisy for this challenge and I was given this sweet ballerina to work with. So my first instinct was that my gingham had to be 'pink'! But then I popped into the blog to write up my hostess post and check out what my teamies were up to and there were loads of pink gingham creations (it is gorgeous after all) so I had another think and decided her skirt petals looked rather like poinsettia and she ought to be a Sugarplum Christmas Fairy. So that's how this wound up a Christmas card. I rather love the poinsettia petal skirt! I worked very hard with my copics on that skirt! The lovely sentiment is a Christmas fav' of mine from an older Bebunni Stamps set from Crafter's Companion called Christmas Story.

If you visited my blog yesterday, you will have seen that I'm now designing for the Whimsy Stamps Digital Design Team, we're known as the Digital Design Divas, how cute is that! Well, when I spotted a brand new 'Christmas Ginghams' paper set designed by Whimsy's lovely Tracy Wray, which included this gorgeous red gingham paper, I so wanted to use it for this creation. I was conflicted, because this isn't a Whimsy post, but the lovely Denise let me use this gorgeous paper for this sweet creation anyhow. Thank you Denise, as it's so perfect for this challenge and this design. Now folks you so have to swing by Whimsy Stamps and check out their gorgeous new digital release. I'm so excited that they're doing digital images, papers and sentiments again! It makes crafting SO easy for me here in New Zealand, where everything costs so much to have posted over, especially paper!

I just had to print the 'Night Before Christmas' poem since I had Sugarplum thoughts echoing in my head. 

I thought it was easier to snap a pic of the pens than try to remember later what I used.

As You Like It: Ooh, that's easy! I LOVE making Christmas cards. I'm known to start singing Christmas carols halfway through the year when I'm beginning my Christmas crafting. I can't help myself. I just find it such a joyful and optimistic time of year! One of my gal pals in a 'Bah Humbug' moment, when I clearly was being too peppy and excited about Christmas, made me vow not to use the word Christmas until after Dec 1st! She knows that's nigh-on impossible for me. So we use the codeword 'Sausages' until December 1st, LOL. It really works! Her idea, and it makes her laugh that we still do it! Hehehe.
