Fab 'n' Funky ~ Embossing Wet or Dry
Hey there my lovely blogging pals. It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new Fab 'n' Funky challenge! We have a lovely 'Just For Fun' theme for you this week. Our lovely hostess Pat would like you to create a card with 'Embossing'. Wet or Dry, either is fabulous, or both if you're keen! I've chosen dry embossing for my creation this week. I made this for my darling wee niece Isabelle's birthday. The year before, I'd given her a super cute little ladybug outfit and at the time, totally forgot I had this stamp! But rummaging through my stash, found it and it so reminded me of her in her wee outfit, I thought it'd be fun to use for this years birthday card. Sweetly, I was able to give it to her in person this year as they were visiting recently from San Diego.
I used some delish Teresa Collins paper from her Stationery Noted Set called Poppies added the embossed white panel matted with a red cardstock on a foam layer for dimension and wrapped the bakers twine and sentiment tag before adding it to the card. The card base is quite large, it's actually an 8x8 card, so is quite a substantial piece.
This darling image is of course from the magic hands of Krista Smith from Saturated Canary. This is a rubber stamp, so the image was inked in a plum coloured ink, just for fun and a change. I wanted to see how it would look inked up this way. I quite like it, not as harsh as the usual black outlines, but not pale enough to make me balk! Hehe, I'm not keen on no line colouring, I like need the lines! Hehe. She was coloured with my Promarkers, her wings generously layered with Wink of Stella and I added some flower soft in white to her wee antennae for a bit of texture and fun.
The little circular tag, I think is from one of my Doohickey kits (I can't remember, sorry, I'm hopeless I know!) I thought it was a sweet choice for this creation and the sentiment is from an older Little Darlings Rubber Stamps sentiment set. When I first was hunting through to find the right sentiment, I read it quickly and thought it said 'Bug hugs to you!' hehe, so you know I just HAD to use it then. Mistake or not! The lovely embossing folder I've used for this creation is from the Crafter's Companion Scandinavian Christmas Folder ~ Traditional Folk
I hope you'll come and join us for some fun this week at Fab 'n' Funky, there is no prize this week, but still a great way to showcase your work and be in with a chance to have your work highlighted in the Top 3. I'll be back again very soon, as today is also Whimsy Wednesday and excitingly, also New Release week! So I'll have two new release creations to share with you over the next two days. In the meantime, pop over to the Fab 'n' Funky blog and be sure to check out the gorgeous creations my teamies have made for the challenge. I'll be back very soon with my next crafty adventure. Hugs to you all, Wends xoxo
