Whimsy Stamps ~ May New Digital Release ~ Day 2
A warm hello to all my blogging buddies. I'm here today to share our Whimsy Stamps May Digital Designs Release. We have some lovely new digital papers this month and a couple of sentiment sets you're going to love! I gave you a sneak peek at one of the new sets, on my last card and I've used it again for this creation. We have some super cute digital images being released this month too and I couldn't wait to start creating with this sweet wee Doctor/Nurse image. Crissy has been creating the cutest penguin images lately and this one has utterly stolen my heart. The image is called Penguin Doctor Cute.
When I spotted the cute ditsy design of our Going Dotty digital papers this month, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this image! Patterned scrubs!! They seriously do look like some of the scrubs that the docs used to wear when I was working on the kids ward as a Paeds nurse. It took some pretty careful fussy cutting to leave the thermometer and stethoscope exposed, but I'm so pleased with how it turned out!
I had printed the image straight onto the yellow version of the papers from this Going Dotty papers. But when I coloured the penguin up (and possibly because my printer is being a bit naughty at the minute!) it looked too pale and I wanted a bit of vibrancy, so I used my Copic Markers and created a slight ombre wash over it. Don't do this if you print your papers with an inkjet! But mine was printed on a laser, so perfectly safe to colour over. It just added a bit more depth to the background I think.
I gave you a sneak peek of our new digital sentiment sets last week on my 'For A Friend' Fairy card, so here is another sentiment from that set, which works so brilliantly for this creation! These sentiments work perfectly with the Whimsy Stamps Bold Banners die set. There was a slight white edge on the sentiment when I die cut it, so I just inked the edge in black and it gave a lovely cohesive edge to edge black finish. I liked the stitched edge detail on this make, as it almost looks a bit 'band aid' like. If you like this die set, be quick to grab it, as it's on sale in the retiring section of the store!

As You Like It: Favourite Animal ~ I love Firefoxes, but you don't see many of those in stamps and I've rather fallen in love with the sweet penguins from Whimsy Stamps of late, so in the stamping world, my favourite currently is these wee penguins. I have a large number of penguins from different artists I've coloured over time. So they've been a fav' for a while.
