Whimsy Stamps ~ June New Digital Release ~ Day 3

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. I'm here with my Whimsy Stamps Digital New Release creation on Day 3 of our New Release launch for June. I am using a super cute image by our talented Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong called Make a Splash Duck. I've coloured this cute image with my Copic Markers and then trimmed the image with a Whimsy Stamps Handstitched Nested Rectangle Die

I used some cute papers from the last release and matted the image with the ditsy red paper from the Going Dotty paper set. I diecut a lovely lighthouse from a much older Whimsy Stamps die that I have in my stash. I love pulling out my older stash, it's a long while that I've been a Whimsy fan, so it's really fun pulling that stash out now to use in my DT creations.

The lighthouse was perfect for this creation and I also used an older Whimsy Stamps sandcastle die too. I've tucked a sweet lil' sea-star and two little scallops around the sandcastle that I cut with dies from my stash (Doohickeys) from some fun sea themed papers also from my stash (Kaisercraft - Sandy Toes).

The lovely sentiment is from an older clear stamp set called Ocean Journeys, which if you're quick you can snap up from the Retiring section for only US$5! It's a lovely set, with some great sentiments and nice bold finish. I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat set it with clear embossing powder. I added the sentiment to vellum, so you could still see the layout behind. I like using vellum in this way.

I thought the white card base a little plain when I was mounting all the layers, so I added a simple embossed line running around each side and overlapping in the corners, just for a bit of interest and a simple finish. The rest of our awesome Digital Design Divas team have been hard at work on their designs too, so head over to the Whimsy Stamps Facebook page and check out what the rest of the talented team have been up to. All the links to the products I've used in this design are linked at the foot of this post. This is not an affiliate link, just a straight link to the store, so you can easily take a peek at the full collection. I'll be back again soon, with another Whimsy Wednesday Inspiration post, but in the meantime, enjoy checking out the brand new June releases and happy crafting. Hugs xoxo
