Whimsy Stamps May Digital New Release

Hey crafy pals I'm back again with the brand new Digital Release from Whimsy Stamps for the month of May and boy is it a good one! We are a little restricted during the lockdown with what can be posted and shipment delays during the lockdown, but the joy of digital, is there are no restrictions at all and in fact this month, we have not just digital images, but also a brand new digital paper set and two lovely digital sentiment sets. This Digital Paper release is what I want to share with you today in my DT creation.

This beautiful set of papers was created by Whimsy's own Denise Lynn and they are so stunning. Shabby chic gorgeous designs that can be used as the most beautiful backdrop to your creations. I made a circular design just for something a little bit different, adding a doily from my stash, some ribbon loops, pretty vellum leaves cut from an older Whimsy Stamps Poinsettia Floral Die, some acrylic roses and a layered paper rose from some very old stash that was a lovely tone for this paper.

I also added a pearl spray which I think added such a lovely touch to this design. The final element was a sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Digital Set Everyday Banners by Bev Rochester. I foiled the sentiment which is such a cool thing about using a laser printer to print my black and white elements, it works perfectly for foiling. You can of course print these in different coloured backgrounds which is also fun, but I thought the bronze deco-foil would add a lovely element to this design and it certainly does! I wanted to show off as much of the paper as possible, so didn't use an image with this design, but you of course could!

I'll share a tip with you when creating 'circular cards', I learnt from my lovely crafty friend Sarah, and that's to trim a tiny straight edge off the back panel of the card, so when you sit it open, it sits exactly as you want it to, rather than rocking sideways from the weight of offset embellishments. This worked a treat for this card! I'll be back again very soon with another design I created for the New Release. If you want to have a sneak peek, then head on over to our Whimsy Inspiration Blog where another two of my designs are in the line up, but I'll come back and share those with you in another post. I wish you a wonderful week and do stay safe and well. Hugs xoxo
