Christmas in July ~ Christmas Characters

Hey lovely friends, I prepared this card a little while back when we were still doing Challenges at Christmas at Sweet Stampin' and wanted to join in with our lovely old teamies at their new challenge. The sweeties were sadly finding less and less time to create for Christmas through the year, so we decided to close our Sweet Stampin' Christmas blog, but these lovely ladies that used to be our teamies, have set up a new challenge to continue the Christmas joy. Finally catching my breath a bit, I thought I'd play along this month.

I created this sweet Christmas card with a Lili of the Valley Topper and lots of glitter! The pretty frame is one I bought last year and just loved using this past Christmas for my Christmas crafting. It's from a craft line called The Paper Boutique and if I recall correctly, this frame was from their 'Whisper of Winter' collection. I was totally sold on this gorgeous die after seeing my crafty pal Sarah create with it. I've used it lots this past Christmas and look forward to pulling it out again for a bit more Christmas crafting very soon.

I made a second version of this card, still with an LOTV Topper, but a snowman this time and swapped the colours around, so the white snowflake sat in a kraft card base. I backed this version with silver glitter cardstock for a bit of shine. The first version, I used sticky back paper that I then sprinkled with loose glitter and tapped off the excess. It stuck nicely to the sticky sections, but the first image sadly doesn't capture the sparkle well. I added touches of glitter to both of the toppers and used the same die to cut them out, which came with The Paper Boutique snowflake die set. Simple stamped sentiments finished off these designs nicely.
