Sweet Stampin' ~ Fabulous Flowers

Hey crafty friends, it's time for another challenge over at Sweet Stampin' and this time we're sharing our creations that feature flowers. So that's easy peasy, as there are so many wonderful floral stamps sets out there these days! I've created a lovely card for my mum to give to her bestie who recently returned from a trip back home to her native Scotland. Mum wanted me to include a hat tip to that and I managed to find a little tartan bow in my collection which satisfied that request. I know I've a highland coo in my collection somewhere, but couldn't locate it in the timeframe I had, so the wee tartan bow had to suffice. Mum loved it though and so did her bestie, which was lovely. She loved it so much in fact, she asked me to make a card to send back to the friend she stayed with while she was home in Scotland.

I stamped the lovely floral wreath on watercolour paper with black ink and clear heat embossed it. I coloured the beautiful image from Gina K Designs with some new to me inks from Simon Says Stamp. I really like the 'desaturated' tones of these sets. I smooshed the inks onto a palette and painted them onto the image with a waterbrush. I splattered the panel after it was coloured with some gold and silver watercolour ink from Brutus Monroe.

I looped some silver thread into a bundle and added that behind the foiled and diecut sentiment which is from a pre-foiled sentiment pack by Pinkfresh Studio. I don't have a foil machine, so enjoy using these pre-foiled sentiments occasionally. I trimmed the panel with my Tim Holtz Deckle Edge Trimmer and then mounted it onto a top folded card base which I made from Gina K Cardstock in the lovely Plum Punch colour. I paired the card with a Soft Stone envelope also from Gina K.

I was so pleased with all the little details on this card, the heat embossing, the splatter, the twist of thread behind the sentiment, little details which just added a bit extra to the design. Really enjoyed using my new Simon Says Stamp Ink colours too for the colouring. Not confident with watercolour, but these made it pretty easy!

Thanks for popping in to visit today friends and I hope you're able to join our fabulous 'Flowers' challenge. We'd love to see what you're inspired to do. I'll be back very soon with another crafty adventure, until then, hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
