Baby Sis
It's was my baby sister's birthday recently. She's the youngest of us seven kiddos, so she's always been loved and spoilt to bits by her six older siblings. She is this petite, Scandinavian-blonde haired beauty and when I saw this fabulous Elisabeth Bell stamp I just knew that was the one I had to colour up for her birthday. It's so HER! The stamp is called 'Willow with coffee to go'.
The lovely background paper is one called 'Blossoms' from the MME 'Pretty Please' Spring Papers. These papers have been sitting in my craft stash for ages, so it was lovely to get them out for a play and the colours were perfect for this make. All the papers have been edged with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and I used a 'stitch' stamp from Lili of the Valley to create the faux stitched border on the image.
The sheer silver ribbon and pink grosgrain ribbon were from a lovely pack of ribbons I won recently from the Crafty Catz Challenge. The sweet heart feature corner was a gift a long time back from the girls at Dreamees. They sent me a whole bag of white ones in different sizes, so I coloured this one up with my Cerise Promarker to match the papers and image. I've gone for a monochromatic pink theme with the image colouring, which is so my sis! I used a touch of Glossy Accents on her sunny's and Viva Pearl pen on the bracelet. Her handbag and the heal of her shoe I've touched up with some Glam Pink Stickles for a little sparkle and bling. The pink flat-back pearls are from MeiFlower and the sentiment is from Tina Wenke for Stampavie.

I had to post it to the US and postal rates here in New Zealand are a bit different to the UK. They're very restrictive for letters and have to meet a very strict width and depth or you have to pay parcel rates, which gets ridiculous! So I used a 'flat' bloom, which would fit inside the letter rate depth. I ended up sending the card with her present however, so it wouldn't have mattered to have gone a bit more 3D with my blooms after all. But I am happy with the finish and think the fabric bloom made up of a few different sizes of fabric petals, a paper bloom, a plastic centre bloom and a glittered brad, actually came up quite nicely and really worked with the pretty paper. I used a spray of pearls to finish the flower, which I bought some time back from the craft section at John Lewis in London.
All that remains is to show you the utterly gorgeous pressie we found for my baby sis from a wonderful Scottish artist. Such a beautiful translation of her watercolour paintings onto fabric for these limited edition pillows. It has all the perfect colours for my baby sis, who loves the brighter tones and lots of pink! Bluebell Gray is a perfect fit for her.
