Ballerina Girl
Today's card is one I made for my lovely niece right before she was due to sit her ballet exams. She's doing so well with her ballet at the moment and I wanted to make her a 'good luck' card to wish her well for the exams. So I hunted high and low for an image that fit the idea I had in my head. Nothing I came across was quite right, until I found this lovely image from Jade Dragonne through DeviantArt. Her art is amazing and she very generously allows it to be used for personal projects.
Thanks for popping in today. I hope you like what you've seen. Pop in again soon as I'll have more cards to post in the next few days. But today has been all about trimming the Christmas tree here in our house. December 1st, that's our family tradition and this year, there was a tiny elf who helped (properly) for the first time. So I leave you with a couple of pics from that adventure. Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Hugs, Wends x

The background paper is a lovely digital paper from The Coffee Shop Blog. They have a few very lovely digital papers they offer for free. I thought this paper was a perfect fit for the image. I kept the embellies to a minimum as I didn't want to cover the pretty dancing girls in the paper, so just a Whimsy die-cut corner some adhesive pink lace and a fabric bloom compiled of several petals of varying sizes and finished with a simple brad to tie them together. I added three pink heart pins and some lovely pearl sprays to finish the bloom.
Jade's ballerina is so beautifully drawn and such a perfect image for my lovely niece's card. In this close-up you can see the FlowerSoft I used on the swan head piece and the floating feathers. I mounted the pretty image onto a Spellbinders Floral Oval mat in candy pink, which I think was just the right finish for the image. The final touch to the card was a lovely 'Lili of the Valley' sentiment stamp from their Inspirational Sentiments set and some flat backed pearls from MeiFlower. Finally I inked all the edges with Angel Pink Memento ink.
