Southern Girls ~ Sparkle
Hey there my lovely blog pals. I've a sweet treat for you today. We have a new challenge at the Southern Girls for you today and it's Team Lou's turn to give you a little inspiration. This challenge we are looking for all things Sparkly. Simples!
We are being sponsored by Star Stampz and Norma J Burnell this challenge. So the DT have been given some really sweet images to work with. I used a cute one called 'Candy Girl' from Star Stampz. Check out the lovely images from these fabulous sponsors. Our lucky winners are in for a real treat this challenge.
I had some paper on my craft desk, which I'd not yet put away from a recent Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine cover gift. (The September 2015 issue). I often leave them on my desk a while in the hope inspiration will hit! It's from BoBunny and is called Isabella. I really like the grey and pink combo in this paper pad. So I was inspired to make a really girly pink card with this sweet image and pretty papers.
This card I made for my sweet little niece who has just turned a year old. Her mummy LOVES pink, so I think she'll approve of this card. I wanted to use a different sentiment to the one that I did, which said 'Sweet Wishes' and came from the same set as the sentiment I used, but it was taller and wouldn't fit the little gap at the bottom of the card, so I used the 'Have a Happy Day' sentiment instead. The set I used is a Tina Wenke for Stampavie set called Sweet Wishes. So sad to have lost Stampavie last year, our lovely stamp companies seem to be struggling to survive in this world where there is so much copyright abuse. I'm all for supporting the true talent out there, not derivative artists or stamp thieves.
I coloured this cute image with my Promarkers and added a bit of glitter glue here and there for sparkle. I also used a sparkly ribbon, though I'm not sure this shows well in the photos. The Joanna Sheen Starburst and Whimsy Corner have been cut from a pearlescent paper too for that added bit of subtle sparkle. I also used a cross-stitch die from a Paper Smooches set called 'Stitched' to add some kisses underneath the image. Just for a bit of interest and texture.
Well that's me for this week. Do pop on over to the Southern Girls Challenge blog to see what my talented teamies have been up to. We have some awesome new DT who are rockin' the blog with their gorgeous makes, so do come and check out what all the DT have been up to. I'll see you again soon with another crafty adventure. Big hugs until then, Wends x

It's always the little touches that finish a design perfectly and you have certainly done that here; the die cut stars, bow and sentiment are lovely :-)
