Fab 'n' Funky ~ Buttons and Bows
You know those weeks, the ones that are so full, you land in bed with a thud, your head hits the pillow and you remember nothing until you wake again the next day only to repeat it all?! Yeah, it's been one of those weeks! So much so, I have missed not only posting my DT creation for Fab 'n' Funky this week, but actually creating it! So I'll be off to the naughty step very soon, but in the meantime, I'm in a creative frenzy today (the first day I've actually had time to stop and check what I've got in my calendar!). I'm on limited time, as my sis' is throwing a fabulous cocktail party tonight, so it's best bib and tucker later and only a few hours now to craft! So check back soon and I'll hopefully have something to show for my crafty day. In the meantime, head on over to the challenge blog and check out what my rather more organised, fabulously creative teamies have been up to for our 'Buttons & Bows' challenge. Fab theme isn't it?! Chosen by our lovely hostess Susan. So do come and join in the fun! Hugs to you all, Wends xoxo
Whew, that was a full day of crafting, but I'm happy with the result. So let me show you what I got up to. I had some gorgeous digital papers printed from Studio Flergs called 'Over The Rainbow' which suit this gorgeous Bugaboo Stamp to bits I think. The rainbow was on a separate paper, so I cut it out and added it to the cloudy paper. The fabulous sentiment is from Unity Stamps and that wee wooden butterfly button I have had in my stash for so long, waiting for the right card to use it on and I think this fits the bill. I laced some soft grey bakers twine through the button loops to create my 'bow' so snuck in both bits of the challenge - 'Buttons & Bows'.
I coloured the star on her shirt in red at first and then thought "what was I thinking!" so redid it in yellow and fussy cut it then added some Wink of Stella for some pretty highlights. I just love her candyfloss pink hair, that was so much fun to colour. I used four different shades of pink to get the colour grades, so hopefully this shows in the pics. Click on the photo to pop it up to a bigger size for a closer look.
Her tail I coloured with Promarkers and then went over 4 of the colours with Cosmic Shimmer Acrylic Drawing Inks to add a little sheen and sparkle to the tail. It only shows when it catches the light, but it's a nice surprise when it does. The above pic is a bit blurry, but was the best shot for showing the sheen on the tail and the sparkle on her star and horn.
I'm still having trouble with my printer. I've pulled it apart and cleaned the rollers, which thankfully, meant that now one side at least, will now give me a clean print, which is how I managed to print this wee cutie. It's still printing stripy lines down the left side though, so is ruining half my prints! Not one to waste anything though, I just use the other side of the paper and stamp on it. So all is not lost! Do head over to Bugaboo and check out the gorgeous new releases from our fab sponsor.
Thanks for popping in on my wee blog. I had a wonderful night last night at my sister's Champagne & Canapés party, but had such a Champagne hangover today, I don't think I'll be having Champagne again for while! So I think I've done my time on the naughty step. LOL. I'll be back again soon with my next crafty adventure. Have a fabulous weekend. Big hugs to you all, Wends xoxo
Ooh I nearly forgot to show you the cute paper I used inside the card too! The lovely digital paper set also had a very cute unicorn page, so I used that to line the inside of the card. My daughter Georgie went utterly nutty (in a good way) when she saw this card. So I think it's destined to land in her room sometime soon! Though would work incredibly well for one of her bestie's birthdays that's coming up! LOL.
