Whimsy Wednesday ~ You're Still The One

Hey there lovelies, it's time again for my Whimsy Wednesday post and I am going to share with you today, the card I'm tucking away to give to my hubby for our Wedding Anniversary. In a few days time, we will be celebrating 24 years of marriage. That means it's 28 years of loving that guy. Yes, I was a child bride! Hehe. I've been poorly for a couple of weeks now and I'm so happy to have got back in my craftroom to create this. Humming Muddy Waters away to myself now... I've got my mojo working babe...

Check this lil' guy out, is he not the cutest?!! He looks just so super adorable in his wee hat and holding on tight to that heart! I've coloured him with my Copics and I think he's the sweetest. Did you hear Whimsy Stamps are now selling Copic Markers?! Woohoo! This cutie is of course, from our awesome Whimsy Stamps artist Crissy Armstrong. Her penguins are just the sweetest! This image is called Penguin Heart Hugs.

I pulled out one of my favourite Whimsy Stamps dies, the Country Heart die and then added a 24 to show the number of years my hubby and I are celebrating for our Wedding Anniversary this year. It's not showing well, but the numbers are cut from a lovely sparkly self adhesive glitter paper from Tim Holtz.

I added the sweetest element to this card, which is from a fabulous selection of chipboard embellishments created by Make It Crafty in Australia and now being sold by Whimsy Stamps. This 'XOXO' was perfect for my creation this week. I used my Firebrick Flexmarker to colour the base chipboard as it matched perfectly with the card base and then I used pearl white enamel paint to give the top chipboard a slightly softer whiter sheen. I stuck the two bits together with Zig 2-Way Glue Pen and then adhered it to the card with the same glue. Love this stuff, very easy to be very specific with where the glue is applied and it holds well.

I used a large Go Kreate die to create the card shape, then added some distressed edge digital paper from a lovely Whimsy Stamps digital paper set called Love In Red. I used a stitched square die for a bit of interest to cut the paper before distressing the edges. I added a little white picket fence (my homage to our happy lil' white picket fence life), then I finished the corners of the image with a fab Whimsy Stamps Corner die from a retired set and the little heart waste cut from the Country Heart die I added to the bottom right corner. All finished on the outside, it just needed a little something inside! So I've stamped 'You're Still The One' from a lovely clear stamp set from Whimsy Stamps called From The Heart designed by Simonne Clay. It's long retired, but Whimsy Stamps are so timeless, I keep using them years later!

I'll be back again soon with another DT creation and of course our Whimsy Challenge ends in a few days, so time to get creating for the next challenge. Check out our gorgeous 'Instant Download' digital images if you want something fresh and new. Hugs to you all and happy crafting xoxo
