Fab 'n' Funky ~ Fantasy & Fairytales

Hey there lovelies. I've run away up North with my kiddos who are on Autumn break right now, so I'm desperately hoping this post behaves and goes live as I've scheduled it to. It is of course time for a new Fab 'n' Funky challenge and this week our lovely hostess Susan has chosen the fabulous theme 'Fantasy and Fairytales'. Love that theme. In my haste to pack and head North, I've left no time for colouring! Do you feel slightly guilty when you post a 'non-coloured' creation? For some reason I do, but it's silly, because these beautiful pre-coloured toppers from our lovely sponsor The Paper Shelter are absolutely perfect for just such 'no time to colour' occasions! Because I didn't have to colour, I made 3 dinky cards, when I say dinky, they really are tiny, 9cm x 9cm, that's a little over 3.5 x 3.5 inches. I did this, because my printer is running out of ink and putting bands of colour randomly across the page. I've worked out where it misses and cut the print size down to try and miss the banding. Yes, I will replace the ink, but these colour lasers are expensive! So I'm making it stretch as far as I can, hehe.

I decided to make 3 tiny cards, using these smaller printed images. I also printed their lovely matching papers from The Paper Shelter. Their images really are a great deal, with a black and white line drawing you can colour yourself, a pre-coloured image for those quick makes, often a PNG image too with a transparent background for easy merging with digital papers and then they provide a lovely paper with most of their images too! Spoilt for choice really. So I decided to print the lovely papers tiny to fit the little images and then use a simple mat in different shades of green for each creation to finish the designs.

I love green, it's my favourite colour and I love all the different shades! I wear quite a lot of the olive green tones, but I love all the shades. The image above I imagined as Daenerys from Game of Thrones, so she was my Fantasy creation #1.

Second was my sage green creation using a sweet pixie that is a hat-tip to Tinkerbell in my mind. You can't see it really, but her wings have been glittered with pixie dust (aka Wink of Stella). I had a sage green cardstock I'd already embossed with a cherry tree die and it's so pretty, it's a shame you can't see more of it in the design.

Third and final creation, Princess Mulan and her dragon. I love the emerald green of this creation. It really pulls out the greens in the paper and image. The cards are so tiny, I kept the designs very simple. The images are popped up on foam for dimension and the paper edges are distressed, otherwise, three tiny, very CAS card designs. I'm well chuffed considering I was totally out of colouring time! I hope you're inspired to come and join our lovely 'Fantasy & Fairytale' theme this week. I just love this theme, so I can't wait to see what everyone is inspired to do!

I'll be back on Saturday, so will be checking in with you all again then. Though I've scheduled a couple of posts while I'm away, so fingers crossed no gremlins in the lines! Hugs to you all until then and happy crafting! Wends xoxo
