Sweet Stampin' ~ Embossing

Hey there pals, I'm bringing you 'Embosserama' today! Hehe, no, that's not really a 'thing', but I did go embossing crazy on this creation! We are having an 'Embossing' challenge at Sweet Stampin', so I used both types of embossing on my creation, heat and dry. We'd love to see what you're inspired to create. Just remember there must be some stamping on your creation to be eligible for the Top 3.

I made this for my lovely mother in law when her mummy was really poorly. We were worried the end was nigh, but can you believe she's still going strong at 103! She's amazing and frankly so is my mother in law who is very involved with her care. So I wanted to honour the amazing love and energy she constantly gives to my hubby's incredible Nana. My kiddos think she's a legend and are very proud of their 103 year old Great-Nana.

I used a beautiful paper on this creation that I've had for absolutely years. I bought it at Lakeland, when they still had all their craft goodies. I heat embossed in white some butterflies and dragonflies from Issue 41's Creative Stamping magazine cover gift, on the base layer for a bit of interest and then cut a circle from the same paper, layering it up with foam and matching the design as I stuck it down. You may notice, in matching the paper, my sentiment is slightly 'off', which was a real shame, but hopefully my mother in law didn't notice! I embossed that lovely sentiment with copper embossing powder. I'm not sure which company that sentiment is from, I've had that too forever! But it's a favourite and I use it quite often. The lovely heart frame is made with a Sue Wilson die from the Italian Collection - Decorative Frames. I fell in love with this sweet heart frame when I first saw it and I really love using it.

Rather than add paper to the front of this stepper card, I decided to dry emboss the front. I shaped the base of the card with a Spellbinders decorative border and then added the sweet branch and bird embossing. The wee Angel wings, were a last minute addition and are not actually adhered to the card, just sitting in the gap behind the circular frame. They are actually cut from wax paper with a Magnolia Doohickey Die, and are waste from cutting a paper set with the wax paper to help the release from the die. They were on my desk when I was making this card and I just picked them up to play, but quite liked how they looked framing the sentiment, so I sent the card this way to my mother in law.

I hope you'll come and play along with us this week for our 'Embossing' challenge at Sweet Stampin'. But sure to stop in the challenge blog and see what my awesomely talented teamies have been up to. You're sure to leave inspired. I'll be back again very soon with another DT creation. Until then, I have some cleaning to do in my craft room and more baby cuddles to have. So I wish you all a fabulous weekend and happy crafting! Hugs, Wends xoxo

This is so pretty Wendy. The wings! Love them! I tell you what, those 103 year olds really are amazing. My hubby's grandmother lived that long and she was popping wheelies in her wheelchair. LOL Was driving til she was 98 and could sit in a chair with her legs crossed under her.

This is so beautiful Wendy and what a fabulous reason to send it too. The colours are so pretty and the addition of the angel wings to wishes it off perfectly. I was really sad when Lakeland stopped their crafty section. I still have a set of their micro glitters!! xx
This is beautiful Wends - what an amazing woman - 103 and going strong, and an equally amazing daughter caring for her! The world needs more people like that!
Blessings
