Whimsy Wednesday ~ Giraffe Cuddles
Hey there lovely crafty friends. I am here to share my Whimsy Wednesday post with you tonight. I just love the latest release from Whimsy Stamps, there are the most adorable images in this release and this wee cutie has to be one of my favourites from this current release. It's by Krista Heij-Barber and is called Giraffe Baby Love.
I've created a rocker base card, for a bit of fun and whimsy! I've added my layers of matting which includes a lovely circle of digital paper designed by Crissy Armstrong. It's from the Distressed Polka Dots set. My printer is being really naughty, so there's some additional 'distressing' on the left hand side of my circle, which won't appear on normal prints of this paper. But I quite liked the grunge finish, so didn't try to cover it.
This darling image was so fun to colour up. I've used my Copics for this. Adding just a hint of blue around the heart stitch die to make it look like they're little heart clouds. I added a wee cloud from the 'Stitched Clouds' die set afterwards to further suggest the cloudy day theme. That sweet heart stitched die is from the card builder die set Hearts of Love. I really love this die set. I've used it quite a lot lately. The elements are great individually but work so nicely together too. Super bonus, is that it's in our 'Retiring' section right now and is only $10! So grab one before they're gone if, like me, you like heart themed embellies.
I've recoloured this digital sentiment to make it print in brown for my card, as I felt the black would be too harsh and it picked up the brown of my mat page and the giraffes, tying the colour theme together nicely. This lovely sentiment is from our new 'Father's Day' digital sentiment set by Bev Rochester. There are some super sweet sentiments in there for our beloved papas. This image so made me think of our cuddly boy and his daddy, so it was a no-brainer to turn it into a Father's Day card for Greg. It also reminded me so much of the sweetest little bedtime story book we used to read the kiddies when they were small which had a father and son giraffe in it called Just Like Daddy. So I think it will be well received by my hubby when the time comes.
I used the 'Hand Stitched Nested Rectangles' dies to cut the image and the brown mat. I also used it to cut the sentiment panel.
