Lili of the Valley ~ Snow Bear
Hey crafty friends, I'm popping in today with a card I made after watching the enchanting Snow Bear short animation that my hubby shared with me. I found it quite enchanting and when I was going through my Lili of the Valley stash, this lil' guy just kinda came to the fore and it wasn't until I'd completed the scene that I realised I'd been vibing that beautiful animation! If you've not seen it, I encourage you to, it's beautiful. A free copy of the film was released on YouTube to promote Aaron's Kickstarter project, it's perfect to share with your kids and grandkids.
I coloured this sweet image from Lili of the Valley called Polar, with my Copic Markers. This is such a sweet image for Christmas and Winter makes. The sweet look of enchantment on his face just melts me. Lili of the Valley have such sweet and enchanting images. They're all Digital images now, so access is quick and easy, download and go! I've adored their images since my earliest papercrafting days. I still remember pouring over the UK magazines with posts from creators like Bev Rochester featuring these cuties. Lili of the Valley was one of my first crafting obsessions and they continue to bring out such enchanting images! So it was a joy to colour up this cutie while that sweet animated movie was fresh in my head!
I've used my Copic Markers to colour up this enchanting wee bear and the ombré sky background. I thought about adding some stencilled snowflakes in the sky, but didn't want to detract from the sweet snowflake that is part of the image. I enhanced the artist lines on that snowflake by adding Gelly Roll Stardust Sparkle pen to add some shimmer and shine. I used some SBC Black Shimmer Marker on this wee bear's nose to deepen the black of his nose and give it a little shimmer too. I imagine all snow bears have shiny black noses right?!
I used a beautiful frame die set from Whimsy Stamps to cut the scene I'd coloured. I think this gives such a nice focal point to the card. I didn't have a bigger frame layer, so I traced the outside of the die and fussy cut it then distressed the edge with my Tim Holtz Paper Distresser Tool. This gives a nice matte layer and extra frame to the design. I used an older 8x8 physical paper set from Lili of the Valley for the background paper. This is called Krafty Christmas and this set is still available as a Digital Paper pack on Etsy. That gorgeous Believe Word Die is from Whimsy Stamps and I cut it from toning cardstock to work with the Kraft paper theme. Love this die it's a much used much loved die, year round, but gets extra use at Christmas!
Lili of the Valley has lots of amazing Christmas images, be sure to check them out over in their Lili of the Valley Etsy Store. I will be back soon with crafty adventure, until then, have a beautiful day friends. Hugs, Wends xoxo
