Lili of the Valley/Sweet Stampin' ~ Star Gazing
Hey crafty friends, I know I just shared a Lili of the Valley creation, but I coloured up these two at the same time and I wanted to share them both! So I thought I'd share this creation for my Sweet Stampin' make today. We have a new challenge kicking off today and it will last for the rest of the month. Our theme this time, as you might expect, is Christmas. Anything Christmas goes, as long as you do some stamping!
Now don't ask me why I made that sky orange. I have no explanation for this, it was just a whim! I was just trying something different. I don't always know where my creative muse it taking me, I just go with the flow and this time, this was the result, hehe. Creative license right?! I've coloured this scene with Copic Markers and then added a little glitter over the star and the pom pom on the hat. The pom pom looks great, but the star got a little swamped. I had added some SBC Glitter Marker first, and thought I needed more, but in retrospect, for such a tiny element, the shimmer was enough. Note to self for next time. I completed the scene with a stamped message that came from one of the new Whimsy Stamps Ticket Stamp sets called Terrific Tickets Believe Clear Stamps. This is one of the smaller stamps in the set, meant to be used on the tiny tags of the companion die sets. It was perfectly sized for this card and a simple and elegant finish to this design. I used VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp it.
I diecut the image panel with an older favourite die set of mine from Whimsy called Notched Squares. I don't see it in the store anymore, so these must have just retired. It's a long standing favourite die frame of mine, so I'm a bit sad about that! I've used some older Lili of the Valley paper which was a physical paper set for a time. It was 8x8 size, so worked for lots of different card shapes and sizes. This lovely green paper was from the Heartfelt Paper Pack. Sadly now retired. I added a little hessian ribbon behind the image to break the background up a bit and add some texture and interest. I distressed all the paper edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a Tim Holtz Blending Tool.
We'd love you to come and join our Christmas challenge at Sweet Stampin'. We're running this one all month long so the DT can take a bit of a break in the lead up to Christmas. We hope your Christmas crafting is going well and hope you'll come join the fun with us.
Lili of the Valley has so many gorgeous Christmas images, so be sure to check them out over in the Lili of the Valley Etsy Store. I will be back soon with another crafty adventure, until then, have a gorgeous day friends. Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, and so appreciate if you use these when shopping. They cost you no extra whatsoever. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
