Sweet Stampin' ~ Use Red

Hey Sweeties, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and this week, we'd love to see your creations which feature the colour red. I have created a Birthday card for one of my son's friends. It's a quick and simple make as this birthday fell at the time my mummy was newly in hospital after her fall, so it was coloured up quickly the night before the party. But happily my son was delighted with it and thought it was perfect! Phew.

This is honestly such a clean and simple make for me, but as I mentioned above, it was a quick colour up the night before the party and I needed to be back in hospital the next morning with my Mum, so it was fabulous to have such a cute image to colour that captured such joy. I used a smaller 4 bar card base from Simon Says Stamp for this design, as I wanted a smaller canvas for this cutie.

This adorable image is by Krista Heij-Barber for Whimsy Stamps and I just love the pure joy she's captured in this cute image. I went very simple with my approach using only two colours, red and blue. I coloured this cutie with Copic Markers and then added shimmer to the balloons and the monsters horns.

I've not been able to record any videos since Mum's injury, but I have managed to create some cards out of necessity, so I'll pop in and share those when I can. This birthday card was the first of several I've created recently and as Mum's health improves, I'll be able to share more often.

I hope you'll pop over to the Sweet Stampin' Challenge and see what my teamies have been creating for this challenge. Our challenge being based in the UK, will feature some beautiful creations for Remembrance Day which is on November 11th. I live in New Zealand, so we celebrate and honour our fallen on Anzac Day in April. But several of my teamies will have made cards for Remembrance Day for this challenge and I encourage you to pop over and take a look at their beautiful makes.

Thanks so much for popping in to visit today, I will be back when I can with another crafty adventure, my Mum is doing well post-op, but still needing help from her kiddos and I'm there most days. So I'll pop in soon with another crafty adventure. Until then, I wish you a wonderful and creative week, hugs, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
