Whimsy Wednesday ~ Milly

When Georgie was little, she had a giraffe toy, it was pink with fawn spots and she was called Milly (for camelopard, I know, we're odd!) But she was loved, carried everywhere and was her most favourite, special toy. So when I saw this enchanting image by Sylvia Zet, I knew one day, I would colour it up like 'Milly'.

Georgie didn't have a giraffe onesie, but that wee giraffe toy, sitting by that sweet babe, really does look like her Milly, so I pulled out my Copics and pink it was! The sweet wee babe in this image, I've coloured up more like my wee niece Sienna, with her blonde hair, but I wanted to stay with the pink tones for her outfit too. Ooh I just LOVE this image, it really is utterly enchanting. It's from the Wee Stamps Collection at Whimsy Stamps by talented artist Sylvia Zet.

I took the opportunity to turn this into a gorgeous new baby girl card. I've had that sentiment die sitting in my stash too long to admit and not ever used it, so it was so lovely to finally get it on a card! I used a pretty, old fashioned doily behind the image for a bit of softness and interest. The sweet base paper is from one of Whimsy Stamps latest physical sets of paper. They're lovely heavyweight papers. This page is from the set called Pretty Pastels. I used the lovely Notched Squares die to cut the frame and finished the card with a pretty sheer organza ribbon.

I just love how this card came out and I know it will make a really lovely newborn card when the time comes. But for now, I'm going to tuck it safely away in my card box. Do you have a card box? I keep any I haven't made specifically with someone in mind or for a special occasion and slowly make my way through using them. I have this one in mind for someone in our family who I'm sure will have another bubba soon enough.

If you've not been over to have a look at the latest Whimsy Stamps release, I encourage you to. It's absolutely fabulous! You can click through to the store on the banner above. We have so many sweet new images joining the Digital Vault and the Main Release is fabulous too! We are sharing lots of gorgeous Inspiration with this release over on the Facebook Page and also on our Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Blog. I'm there regularly sharing the adventures the Divas get up to with these gorgeous images. The Wee Stamps Collection is all in the store now, so we showcase a few each month, they don't appear in the 'New Release', but you can find them here in the store and this Baby Giraffe cutie above among them. It's been like London buses on my blog tonight, so I'm off to bed. Wishing you a wonderful week. Hugs and happy crafting xoxo

I can see why you had to colour up this image Wends. What a lovely post. Beautifull coloured and the die cut sentiment is just right. I have a box of "spare" cards that I empty from time to time and donate to animal charities xx

What an exquisite card Wends - perfect for a wee girls arrival. Love your colouring, and although it's all pink it's not OTT at all.
Blessings
