Sweet Stampin' ~ Favourite Colour Combination
Hey friends, if you've been following me for a while, you'll know that 'green' is my favourite colour, most of my wardrobe consists of combinations of green outfits. I have green eyes, so I've worn a lot of green from quite a young age, but more and more the older I've got. So when it comes to favourite colour combinations, for me, it's pretty much green with anything else!
We're having a 'Favourite Colour Combination' challenge this time at Sweet Stampin', so of course green had to feature. I made this card for one of my darling pals whose birthday it is on 9/11. Actually it was her 21st birthday on 'the' 9/11. So that's a day she'll never forget! We gathered last night to celebrate her, which is why my post is a little bit late. I should have scheduled this to go live last night, but last minute lass that I am, I'd prepped a different card to share initially and then made this for her last minute and loved it, so swapped it out to share for this challenge, but ran out of time to blog it. So here I am, finally, with this fun and fabby birthday card for her. I was very happy to quickly find the perfect paper to pair this with. A gorgeous page from the Echo Park 'Day in the Life' paper pad. This was a free gift from Scrapbook.com some time back and I was delighted to be putting through an order for essentials when this was offered. They have some really amazing free offers and quite regularly too! That, along with reasonable post to New Zealand, which is rare, makes them one of my favourite crafty stores for my everyday essential craft goodies that I cannot get at local craft stores here in New Zealand.
How cool is this fabby stamp set?! I'd wanted it for ages. I was a digital subscriber to Making Cards & Papercrafts for a very long time so I'm really sad they've very recently stopped producing this magazine. They had this as a cover gift on their paper editions quite some time back and I absolutely loved the image. So I finally bought it and this was the perfect opportunity to use it! My lovely pal is often the heart and soul of the party and we have another dear friend who is often the hostess with the mostest, which she was again last night to celebrate our pal! So this image absolutely appealed as a hat tip to our friendship. We were all 'Playcentre Mummies' and shared many hours together when our children were little. Our friendship forged during our 'baby days' has continued and has been a great source of comfort, laughs and mischief since my return from the UK back in 2013. I adore these women.
I used some sparkle pens on the wine and on their shoes, which I thought was a fun touch. I find my stamping never looks 'crisp' zoomed in on, but I wanted to share the sparkles. I just realised I forgot to colour the sleeve you can see here! Totally missed that!! Hehe, oh well, that's handmade right?!!
Sweet Stampin' is a 'Just For Fun' challenge and we feature our 'Top Picks' from each challenge every other week. So I hope you'll come and play along with your favourite colour combination creations. We'd love to see what you're inspired to do. Please do stop in to the challenge to check out my amazing teamies creations too, they're a madly talented bunch! I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure. Big hugs, Wends xoxo
