Whimsy Stamps ~ Christmas Treats

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with a fun New Release creation using Whimsy's October 20th release elements. This is such a fun 'getting ready for Christmas' release. It's filled with cute characters and fun diecuts, perfect for Christmas crafting. It's a good thing too, because I'm way behind in my Christmas crafting this year and really need to start stacking up a few makes!

I decided to make the ovens into shaker elements, so pulled out some vellum as I didn't want the oven doors see-through, but rather to just get a hint of what was beyond. I cut some very thin strips of cardstock to create the 'trays' for inside the oven, these don't come with the dieset, but I wanted to add them for the look and feel I was trying to achieve. Super easy to just trim some narrow strips and then add them to the back of the vellum. I cut the oven surrounds from a matt silver cardstock and the trims and handles from a shiny silver cardstock. The body of the oven die I cut from a dark gunmetal grey shimmery cardstock. I ink blended the sides of the base card with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink and then used what was left on my orange blending brush to just lightly ink the oven centres with orange Distress Ink, the last ink I used I believe was Carved Pumpkin, so it would be the remnants of that on my brush. I added some fabulous shiny orange sequins from This Calls For Confetti, to hint at cookies. I initially had pulled out some clay cookie embellishments from a cool This Calls For Confetti mix, but the colour was too muted and didn't show well through the vellum, so I went for the bolder orange sequins and then added some little Golden Heart sequins from Dress My Craft, playing on the 'Love and Christmas Cookies' theme of this make. I also added some grey flatback pearls to the knobs on the oven.

I used Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide to stamp the sentiment inside the slimline card base to complete the card. I didn't have space to add more than the 'yummy' word die on the front of the card without covering elements I wanted to be visible, so I saved this fun sentiment for the inside to complete this creation.

I just love what the pink plaid paper adds to this make. The little oven mitt and cloth cut from the plaid were so perfect and I decided to then also cut the Yummy word from the same paper and love how that turned out. There are some incredible creations and interpretations of this new die over in the store that my talented teamies have created so do go check out their incredible artistry.

Thanks for popping in to visit me today. I'll be back shortly with another crafty adventure featuring some more cuteness from this release, so what this space! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

Oh Wends this is adorable - love your ovens, and the way you have made them into shakers. The pink plaid elements are gorgeous against the grey tones.
