Whimsy Stamps ~ Christmas Deer

Hey crafty friends, it's time to share another Christmas card with you. I've created this with a selection of Whimsy Stamps elements from my stash. I love this set with the sweet deer and really have enjoyed pulling these out for a play whilst making my Christmas cards. My mummy and one of my brothers are great fans of my cards and often will commission pieces from me. I've just done a batch for my mama of 14 cards and my brother asked for a special one for his wee niece, so I made him this bonus Christmas card that he could send too, to the happy wee family who have just welcomed their new little one just ahead of Christmas.

I've used a cool frame die from Whimsy as the base of this design. I ink smooshed some colour onto the actual card base, made a big mess, so had to line the inside of the card! But I actually love how this turned out. I used each frame to set the scene, a snow capped mountain in the background, a birch tree forest and I used the top left frame to add the sentiment. I stamped in black to balance the black of the deer. The frame was cut first from foam and then the silver layer added for a bit of shine and definition. I paired the card with a lovely Gina K designs envelope in Sea Glass, which toned so beautifully with the inky background. The two lovely die sets I used to create the scenes are called Mountain Majesty and Forest Majesty. These two sets are favourites for this time of year.
