Sweet Stampin' ~ Animals
Hey crafty friends, we have a fun challenge going up today at Sweet Stampin'. We'd love to see your creations featuring 'Animals'. I've not had time to create anything 'new' for this challenge, but happily have a card, which I'd yet to share that I created for my lovely brother in law, when he lost his daddy last year.
My lovely brother asked me to make this card and having spent time with my brother in laws dad, I was drawn to using this wonderful image from Lili of the Valley. He was a farmer through and through, and was never without his wellies or his trusty working dogs on the farm. So this sweet image was just such a perfect choice. My brother in law was deeply touched knowing the time I'd taken to watercolour this and handmake it for him. Which made it an even greater joy to have done. He confirmed too, that my choice of image was 'spot on' and depicted his dad so well.
You won't see me watercolour often, I'm not confident with that medium, but I really wanted to watercolour this image, I felt the softness it lends would make it more appropriate Sympathy card. I'm very glad I followed that instinct, because the end result had just the softness I'd hoped for.
I did a rough first attempt which was a fail, just to try out colours and tones. But my brother loved them both and knew there would be a grandchild that might love to have an image of 'Granddad', so he took them both, which was lovely and he was right too apparently!
Thanks for popping in to visit today friends and I hope you're able to join our fun 'Animals' challenge. We'd love to see what you're inspired to do. I'll be back very soon with another crafty adventure, so watch this space. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(If you like any of the elements I've created with, I've added thumbnails to make your shopping easier. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
