Lili of the Valley ~ Sweet Unicorn in the Clouds

Hi crafty friends, I'm popping in briefly today with a card I've made for my sweet niece's birthday. She'll love this adorable unicorn I'm sure, so I used the sweet Dragons and Unicorns Stamp Set from Lili of the Valley to create this enchanting card. This is one of the new sets released in January. There is also a fabulous bundle available with the full release right now for a limited time.

I've gone for a slimline design using both a fabulous slimline paper from the Whimsy Champagne Slimline Paper Pack and also a gorgeous Slimline Clouds Die. They've created a lovely backdrop for this design and I turned the base into a shaker card and filled it with sweet tiny gold stars and iridescent stars. These are from my stash, bought from K-Mart. 

I've added some warm highlights to the clouds with my Copic pale E colours and layered the sweet images over the diecut base and acetate of the shaker. I used so many different purples and pinks for this design. I did write down for anyone who is interested, skip forward if it's not your thing. For the tail and mane, I've used V06 and RV66 for the darker parts and V05 and RV63 for the paler sections. 

I didn't make a note of the creamy colours I used on the Unicorn or clouds, but I did make a note of the colours for the purple rainbow. The darkest layer at the base used V09, V17, V15 and V12. The middle layer matched the Unicorn, I used V06, RV66, V05 and RV63. The largest and lightest layer of the rainbow, I used V12, V01, RV00 and RV000. I have to be honest and say I rarely use these hues, so it was such a great joy to bust them out for this make!

I did use an older sentiment for this card, as I had a rubber stamp in my stash from Lili of the Valley that was just perfect for this card. There is still a digital set which has the same font and lots of lovely sentiments, called General and Christmas Greetings Digital Stamp Set, but it doesn't have this specific greeting, similar though, so still worth a look! I added Nuvo Glitter Drops as accents to the Unicorn and one of the stars to finish the design.
