Sweet Stampin' ~ Spring has Sprung!
Hey crafty friends, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin', it was my turn to post but I got completely tipped on my head this week, I've just been so busy and it's my youngest's birthday during the week, so I was not juggling all the balls well this week. Thank goodness for my awesome wing-woman, Susan is a total star and I can't tell you how many times she's bailed me out! Phew, grateful for my crafty pal.
I'm sure it goes without saying, I didn't have time to craft for this challenge, but I don't always post my cards when I've made them, life gets full and I don't find the time, so I have a few 'in reserve' which I pull out at times like this. This card I made for my darling sister for as a birthday card. I actually made this card during a class at local craft store here in Auckland, Krafter's Cart. Meetu the owner is so lovely and I had a really lovely day with her and the tutor who gave this class. I really enjoyed playing with different inks from those I usually use and trying some different stamping techniques. I've been crafting for a long time now, so a lot was familiar to me, but there's always something new you can learn, no matter how long we've been crafting! So it was fun to give this class a try. The lovely images were provided for our use in class, they are Lavinia Stamps designs and I really enjoyed the layering up of the background stamping with different shades of ink, not something I'd tried quite like this before and it came up so lovely. The leaning in of the heavy umbelliferae seed heads from the sides I just loved. We added some chunkier glitter to these to really make them feature. My favourite part of this make I think.
This was the lovely tutor's card from the class. Soft and dreamy, just lovely. But I was pretty happy with my version too! I added some deeper ink blending around the lower edges to anchor the design a bit and I love how that came out on my card. I don't recall the lovely tutor's name, I will share if I can recall. I won't be able to link all the items used for this card, as I'm not sure what some of them are called and the supplies were provided by the teacher and by Meetu from Krafter's Cart. I'll link what I recognise though to make your searching easier if you see something you like. I do recall the dandelion was a long straight one which we curved to get the angle we wanted.
I hope you'll come join us with your Spring themed creations. There just needs to be some stamping somewhere on your design for our challenges, otherwise, the theme is usually pretty open. I'd love to see what you're inspired to create! I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure, I've been crazy busy, so I'm late with all my creations this month, but I'm catching up, so it'll be London Buses all over again! Until then, hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own. If I have shared an item twice, it is usually because there is a New Zealand retailer for this item too.)
