Sweet Stampin' ~ Boys, Boys, Boys!
Hey crafty friends. I know I've been AWOL a lot lately. Life has been full and I'm quite frankly really behind with my posting. I've been recovering from a high fever this week, I am popping in just quickly tonight to share my creation for the Sweet Stampin', Boys, Boys, Boys Challenge.
I used a cool postmark paper on the back of the bookmark, it was my intention to add a white page over this to add a message, but I ended up giving it to the recipient just like this and they loved it!
I think this stamp set is brilliant. Wonderful for travel themed creations, but I've used it for this make, for a 21st Birthday. I made a bookmark rather than a card, as I thought it could be good for marking their place in some of their big engineer tomes while they study.
The details in the stamp are fabulous, the Colliseum, Lady Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, they chose some cool, very recognisable icons. So I know I'll pull this out next time I need some travel themed elements. It's quite common for Kiwi's to go on an 'OE', (overseas experience) during their early 20's and we have a big family, so this'll get used again for sure!
I also really liked the quote, postmark and bon voyage stamps. So I've stamped these randomly over the design. This stamp is from Hunky Dory from their 'For The Love of Stamps' range. I have a few from this range, but they're been too expensive to get hold of from New Zealand, so I think my collection will have to stop at the few I have now. I cannot find this stamp set online to share an image of it with you sadly. It's long ago since it was released.
I used a cool slimline die from Whimsy Stamps which has this postage edge to add the kraft layer to matt the decorated panel. I've used a few different distress inks to add the colour to the background. It's a while since I did this, but it looks like I might have used Squeezed Lemonade, Bundled Sage and Vintage Photo. I ran a ribbon behind the image panel before adhereing over the postage edge matt and then added the layers to the postage mark designer paper. I'll have to hunt down where that's from, I don't recall from the top of my head, but it was a 12x12 page. I'm thinking Kaisercraft.
Thanks for popping in to visit today. I hope you're able to come and join us for our Boys, Boys, Boys, Challenge at Sweet Stampin'. (I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
