Whimsy Stamps ~ Always & Forever
Hey crafty friends, I'm back with another crafty adventure, which my lovely mama commissioned. She had some friends who were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary, pretty special to say the least, so she wanted to have a beautiful card to share with them. My mama remains my most avid fan and will often commission cards from me. It's a joy to create them for her too as she always is so pleased with them.
I had leftovers on my craft table from a previous make and it occurred to me, that same ‘elegant recipe’ would work well for this card too. I am just exhausted lately and Mr Mojo has taken a holiday, I'd so like to follow suit! So rather than fight the fact that my idea was a repeat from a recent make, I just went with it and gave it a new spin. I pulled out a beautiful stamp set from Whimsy called Always and Forever Sentiments, which were just perfect for this card.
I gold heat embossed the sentiment onto vellum, which I prepped well with anti-static powder first. I notice in a few pics there are some fine gold flecks which the powder didn't repel, but you don't see them with the natural eye, only when they're under a photographic microscope! So I'm okay with that. Handmade right?! There will always be minor imperfections.
I added a couple of little white heart embellishments from my stash and wrapped the vellum over the base panel, which I had run through with the beautiful Floating Hearts Coverplate die from Whimsy Stamps. This panel was left over from that previous make I shared with this same basic card recipe. It has a beautiful shimmer and sparkle to it, which was lovely for this Anniversary card. It's sadly not showing in these pics, but it's there!
I decorated the inside of the card with an anniversary sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Special Day Clear Stamp Set. I had some foil chipboard stickers in my stash with a big 75, which were perfect to finish off the design. I think it was a perfect use too for the recent card recipe I’d shared and I love how this version turned out. Happily, Mum did too! Thanks for visiting today friends. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, until then, have a wonderful creative week. Hugs, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
