Whimsy Stamps ~ Easter Treat Boxes

Hey crafty friends, how is your Easter creating going? I have three sweet little treat boxes to share today. I've made these for our littlest ones in our extended family, which I'll fill with little Easter eggs for them. Usually we gather all our extended family for Easter lunch and do an egg rolling competition and Easter egg hunt, but most of the family have other plans this year, so we won't be doing an Easter hunt. So I'll be saving these little treat boxes up to give to the kiddos when I see them next.

I went for a very simple and rustic finish for these. I made the cute treat boxes out of kraft cardstock, created a little spotlight area of sponged white pigment ink to add the bunnies over, topped the boxes with a little touch of doily for interest and finished them with a twine bow. I show the Hero Arts Ink I used for the white highlights below, but ended up using some Scrapbook.com White Ink overtop to get better coverage, as my Hero ink pad needs re-inking. Cute and simple finishes, but oh how sweet is that bunny?!

This enchanting digital image was released recently by Crissy Armstrong for the Digital Collection at Whimsy Stamps and it couldn't be cuter! I've printed and Copic coloured this adorable wee bunny, sized to fit the front of these Peekaboo Treat Boxes. I experimented to get the size right, printing a few on a page in different sizes, printing that test page up and working out which size fit best, then printing multiples on better paper, suitable for alcohol ink colouring. I think they are super cute on these little gift boxes and really wanted them to be the feature of the boxes. So I kept the rest of the design very simple.

I usually have very good success free stamping sentiments when I'm using VersaFine Clair ink, but I did this stamping too late in the process and frankly messed it up, especially so, because I don't have a brown ink pen to touch up the stamping afterwards! So I've done my best to add back the missing stamped details with coloured pencil, but the results are not sharp, so I'm a bit sad about that, but lessen learned, stamp before making up the boxes, when they're still flat!

I've taken note of the copic colours I used for the bows, because these came out so cute! I'll post a pic of the colours I used for their fur down below, but any Copic brown colour family would create a pretty cute rabbit fur! If you want a closer peek at the colours, you can pop up each bow picture above for a closer look.

We've had such a lovely Easter release at Whimsy during March. I hope you've enjoyed this step through my process and do leave me a comment if you visit, I'd love to know you've been here and if you've a blog too, I'd love visit in return.

Happy Easter friends, I hope you have a blessed and beautiful Easter celebration. Ours will be very low key, as our littlest ones in the extended family have gone to celebrate with their wider extended family, so a very mellow Easter for us. But we will share it with my mummy and family who are still here in Auckland. Hugs, Wends xoxo
