Whimsy Stamps ~ Safari Animals
Hey crafty friends, I've whipped up a super cute card for a little guy with some fabulous Whimsy Stamps elements. I think these adorable Safari Animals by Krista Hej-Barber are perfect for kiddies cards. I masked and stamped the animals to be able to add them in layers to create this huddled scene and coloured them with Copic Markers. I added them to the card popped up on foam for a bit of dimension and interest.
I've used the fab Chippy Paint Background Stamp to create the cool background. I used a multicolour ink pad to achieve the ombré effect. It's a Tsukineko Kaleidacolor Ink in the combination Cappuccino Delight. I added a little Vintage Photo behind the image for a touch of shadow and to highlight the image. I diecut the background panel with Whimsy's Zig Zag rectangles, for another subtle touch of texture and interest.
The fab bold 'you're so cool' sentiment is from another Krista Hej-Barber stamp set called Sweet Summer Fun. I think it fits this card so well and the bold finish of the sentiment lent itself really well to being stamped straight onto the base panel with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. This ink stamps so well, I love it for sentiments, my absolute 'go to' ink for stamping sentiments.
I pulled out my recently purchased A2 Variety Pack of Scrapbook.com Premium Canvas Cardstock and flipped through the pages to find a good colour match for the base of this card. I settled on the Mandarin colour as it was a really nice match for the tones in the Cappuccino Delight ink I used to stamp the Chippy Paint Background. I glued the finished panel onto an A2 top folding card base to complete the card.
I still have another card to share before this month ends, I've been busy and Mr Mojo has been AWOL, so I'm doing a bit of a catch up of creating today. I'm hoping to get a few more cards made tomorrow while the focus is there! Life's ebbs and flows have had me out of my craft room, so it was really lovely to get back into it today. I'll be back with my next card very soon and it's a dinky little one, so watch this space! Hugs, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
