Last Halloween Make For The Year

Hey crafty friends, this month has gone rather pear-shaped for me as my lovely Mum has hurt herself really badly and I've been caring for her since. It's derailed my creative plans for Halloween, but of course she's my main priority right now, so I'm just explaining why I've been AWOL. Halloween creations are my favourites, I have such fun letting my creativity go wild and I really wanted to try to make one last Halloween design before wrapping up the season. I had a tag I'd spritzed last year and never used, so this was my starting point. I pulled out the fabulous Old Bridge Die Set and the Headless Horseman Dies from Whimsy's Halloween releases and this is what resulted.

I diecut the tag last year before Whimsy's Tag Die Set retired, but you could use any tag for this, I think Ranger have some black tags if you want an easy starting point. I diecut mine from Spellbinders Raven Black Cardstock. I diecut the Old Bridge Die from the same cardstock, but spritzed the lichen from this die set with Specimen Mica Spray Stain which I think came out so fun. I diecut the Headless Horseman from Champagne Foil from Concord and 9th to tone with the background and then did a top layer in Black Cardstock from Sizzix. I used several Distress Spritzes on the background last year to create the cool night sky effect. Fossilized Amber, Weathered Wood and Villainous Potion are the ones I used if I recall correctly. I'd love to have had time to add a sentiment, and a moon too, but I'm really time poor right now as spending most of my days up at the hospital caring for my mum, so I left it without a sentiment or moon this time around. I did find a really cool skull in my stash though, which worked a treat to finish up the ribbons to top the card. I used an iridescent cord from Simon Says Stamp for the bow and some Black May Arts Twine and Black Organza Ribbon to top the design. It's a pretty simple tag, but I do really love how it turned out.

I was very late with my card for the most recent Sweet Stampin' Challenge, so this card is doing double duty as my card for the current Halloween or Halloween Colours Challenge over there and as my final make for the Halloween Season at Whimsy Stamps. I have another couple of cards half done, but won't now get to finish them for this season, so will pack them away for next. Sigh, I need more hours in the day right now! Off to bed for me though, as we're moving Mum to a different Hospital tomorrow and I'm doing the transport. I want to give a huge shout out to the wonderful Halloweeners Team who have been knocking it out of the park this season with their incredible makes. If you've not had a chance to see their work, I hope you're signed up for Whimsy's Newletters as the most recent one has the final Spooky Hollow Chronicles which features a lot of their gorgeous creations. I'll be back when I can, until then, hugs and happy crafting friends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. I do not make a commission from the Whimsy Stamps Links. But these links help the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
