Wee Blossom
I have a sweet card to share with you today, that I made up when my cousin and his wife had their first baby. She's the sweetest wee blossom with a real shock of dark hair, little button nose and the sweetest wee face. Not all babies are gorgeous when they're newborn let's be honest, but this wee poppet is delish. So it was fitting to find an equally delish baby stamp to celebrate her arrival. I think I nailed it with this utterly gorgeous new baby stamp from 'Wee Stamps', how appropriate! I teamed up this lil' darlin', with some divine papers I've had in my stash for quite some time now. The papers are from the collection called Nanna's Nursery and is from DCWV. The two papers I used are from the Baby Girl collection.
I was really happy with my colouring on this card, all except for the face, which ended up with a mottled look. I think I oversaturated the paper with colour and then I just couldn't get it to even out. But I was so pleased with the rest of it, I just went with it. So don't look too closely! Okay, just a little peak...
A Wee Closeup (pardon the pun!)
I added a touch of liquid embossing with Glossy Accents to the pram wheels, the birds beak, lil' horse's wheels and the bubba's comforter, to just bring a bit of dimension and texture. I also added a touch of Stickles Distress Glitter to the frilly edge on the pram for texture and added interest.
The sentiment I used was from the DCWV paper pack. I just love these words, as it rings true for most new parents! I certainly felt this when both my 'miracle babies' were born.
The lovely lace is of course Wild Orchid Crafts. The glass flower is from my lovely sister in the US and comes from a Martha Stewart set which I believe she bought at Michaels in San Diego. The flat-back pearls are from MeiFlower. I have quite a lovely selection of their gems, which I bought at the last Ally Pally Craft fair I attended before leaving London. I'm so going to miss those fairs!
As usual, my style today is a cross somewhere between the CAS style and the more embellished shabby chic styles I so love from other crafters. I do so want to try to be more daring with my cards. I love all the frantage and gesso and distress ink. But I just don't have the mojo! So I'm going to try and be a little more adventurous soon, but for now, this is my style - sweet, clean and simple.

Well that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed having a look at this 'Wee' cutie and I'll see you again soon with another card. Have a great day and pop in again soon. Hugs, Wends x
