Southern Girls ~ Nature

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. I am swinging in today with a DT post for Southern Girls. This is a little different to what I would usually do, using diecuts for the main image, rather than a coloured image. Our lovely sponsor Krafter's Cart, sent the most gorgeous DT package to all the New Zealand crew of Southern Girls and I have quite a few cute goodies which I'll be creating with over the next few weeks. Our challenge theme is 'Nature'. So I thought outside the box a bit and went with 'Human Nature' and what better aspect of Human Nature to draw upon than falling in love?! There are of course some delish treats of 'Nature' in the creation too with this lovely My Mind's Eye paper from the Indie Chic collection called Saffron. I diecut a cute mushroom grass border to add that extra little element of 'Nature'. This wee die is from the #6 Magnolia Doohickey Club Magazine release.

I inked the doily with a metallic green paint and then decided it was too bright for this creation and coloured over it with my burnt orange Promarker. I love how it turned out a bit 'grungy' with hints of the green metallic still showing through. The little scattered hearts were diecut 'waste' from the Magnolia Doohickey Heart Flower Lace border die I used. I added a lovely bright orange satin ribbon for a pop of colour and the embossed sentiment was part of the lovely set of dies sent by Krafter's Cart from the set called 'For You With Love'. A very pretty shape and perfect sentiment for this love themed card.

I distressed the top and bottom border of the card and that was it. 'Fussy CAS', hehe, is there such a thing?! I hope you liked what I did for the challenge and I look forward to seeing what you create too, so come on over and play along. Stop by the blog for more inspiration from my madly talented teamies too. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. Until then, have a fabulous week and happy crafting! Hugs, Wends xoxo
