Fab 'n' Funky ~ New Beginnings

Hey there lovely crafty pals. I'm here to share our new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky this week. With the energy of the New Year, we are inspired to celebrate all things 'New', a 'New Baby', 'New House', 'New Job', whatever is 'New' in your life and you're inspired to craft for. This past year was a fast and furious one for me. But we celebrated the birth of two new beautiful souls in our family, both girls. So I have crafted like crazy a lot of this year celebrating little milestones for them. This card, I never blogged at the time, but was made to celebrate the birth of my first wee niece to arrive last year in February. Before you know it, it'll be time to celebrate her first birthday! She turned 11 months old a couple of days ago, so I have under a month to create a beautiful first birthday card. I better get cracking! Hopefully I'll remember to share that one with you a lil' sooner!

This sweet image is of course A Day For Daisies and is called Bundle of Love. I just love their enchanting images and there are so many beautiful 'Mother and Child' images in their collection. This one so appealed to me. I've used my Promarkers to colour this and chose soft and subtle colours to work with the beautiful Maja Design papers I wanted to create the card with. I'll have to hunt down which paper set these are from as I don't recall off the top of my head. The sweet chipboard elements are from Make It Crafty. These lovely chipboard elements are also available at Whimsy Stamps. I coloured the base of the chipboard in a pink but kept the top plain as it toned well with the colours I'd used for the image. I used a lush lace which is from my very carefully and frugally used Live and Love Crafts stash. I'm still mourning the loss of that lovely crafty store! The lovely wooden heart was also from there.
