Whimsy Wonderland ~ Polar Bear's Christmas Tree

Hey there crafty pals. I'm waiting for the light to brighten on this grey day, so I can take my pics of the finished rainbow fairy card, so thought I'd share 'something I prepared earlier' with you. I just LOVED colouring this image up. I used techniques I'd learnt from a previous class by Mindy Baxter, to create the snow mounds and sky and I'm so delighted with how it came together.

This was actually such a simple image to colour, but I really loved how a few extra strokes could create such a Winter Wonderland around him! I kept the card design very simple to allow the colouring to take centre stage. Just a bit of sparkly red card to mat the image and some lovely starry paper to finish.

I mounted the image panel on foam, so it sits up from the starry base paper for a bit of dimension as it's otherwise a very CAS design. I love how just a simple bit of height, can create such a nice finish.

The sparkle on the card, showed up best in full sunlight, which the pic above shows nicely. The star and tinsel were covered in sparkle and the red glitter paper shows nicely in this shot too. I also added with a white gel pen, lots of little snowy sparkles all around the bear, in the sky and on the snow mounds. This shows best in reality, but you can see a peek in the pic above.

I just LOVE Crissy Armstrong's enchanting images, there's a sweetness to them that I just adore and this wee bear, really captured my heart this Christmas. I am waxing nostalgic for our cooler London Christmases! Oh how my littlies loved the snow! So I hope our English pals are enjoying the snowfall in London now!
