Whimsy Stamps ~ Hello Lazy Summer Days

Hey crafty pals, I'm back with another crafty adventure with my Whimsy stash. I have a very sweet creation to share with you today, featuring an ink blended panel I actually made with something else in mind and never used, so worked it into a fun 'pink flamingo' summer card. I know so many of my friends abroad are experiencing heat waves right now, we on the other hand have had days upon days of rain! Great for the water reserves, but I am so longing for some sunny days!

I had some fun new stash to play with for this creation, which included the 'Hello' word die and a fun 'Crazy' word die, which I switched out the Cr for an L to create the word Lazy to suit my theme. The Summer Daze was a fun little sentiment, which worked well from a Whimsy Clear Stamp Set, as I'd intended to find Summer Days for my sentiment, so thought it was a fun twist on that. The cute flamingo is a from the Clear Stamp Set Life Is Cool by Krista Heij-Barber for Whimsy Stamps. The Summer Daze comes from an equally cute Summer themed stamp set by Crissy Armstrong called Gnomes at the Beach.

I used Fairy Dust Stencil Paste by Lawn Fawn through the lovely Pinwheels Stencil from Whimsy to create the sparkly background. I first ink blended Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide inks to create a gradient of colour. I diecut elements from vellum using the Build-an-Island Die Set from Whimsy.

I popped the ink blended background up on foam over a lovely sheet of pink gingham from the Mix n Match 1 Paper Set from Whimsy and then cut the Hello and Crazy Word from some toning pink cardstock, from the Scrapbook.com Peppermint Paper Pack. I added the white polkadots with a Gelly Roll pen for a bit of additional interest.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing this fun 'ode to Summer' creation today. I will be back again soon with the second nautical themed creation as promised, using the 'waste' elements from my previous card, so watch for that.

Gorgeous card Wends- such a fun summery creation- love the background and the inventive use of the word dies- and it's all such pretty shades of pink!
Isn't it a shame that we can't 'share' the weather- we have sun, lovely when not too hot but desperately need rain -everywhere is so bleached and dry!
