Sweet Stampin' ~ It's Our Birthday
Hey crafty friends, today is a very special day for our Sweet Stampin' challenge. We are 13 years old today! Can you believe that?! We have such fun as a team and these ladies are such a talented team of designers. We really enjoy bringing fun new challenges out every couple of weeks for our crafty friends out there in blogland and hope to keep doing so for some time yet!
I'm sharing a birthday card I created for my sister. We lived in France when we were small and my big sister is fluent in French. I on the other hand can only speak french like a 5 year old and have lost so much of my vocab' from lack of use, but it was actually my first language and I still have a Parisian accent when I do speak French. So I often include little nods to those special years in her birthday creations. The sentiment is so true of how I feel about spending time with my wonderful big sis', but I also thought it was so appropriate for our lovely team, who over the years have become very special friends to me too. So it felt fitting to share this birthday creation today.
I stamped the sentiment on a Marianne Designs Doily Frame in a pale brown hue and then stamped over it with a gold ink, which gave it a lovely shimmery shadow. I had fun with this pretty frame die and got inky going for a shabby chic feel on this card. The card frame was cut with an older Tattered Lace die. I love how this card came out and more importantly so did my lovely big sis! The pretty paper is from an old Craftwork Cards Paper Pad called Postcards from Paris, which was the perfect base for this design. The lovely Eiffel Tower Die is from Doohickey Club Magazine Volume 3 called Ooh La La.
Head on over to the Sweet Stampin' Blog to see what my talented teamies created for our big birthday challenge, they really are a madly talented bunch, so do stop in to check them out. We hope you'll come and celebrate with us. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

I am so glad I get to share the SS journey with you - I know that we're always there for each other and it's brilliant to have you in my corner.
Love the card, it's absolutely beautiful. If only I could speak French I'd tell you how lovely it was in French! Oh c'est magnifique..... that'll do!
