Whimsy Stamps ~ More Bohemian Fun

Hey friends, I'm popping in tonight with a very quick share of another card I created with the lovely Bohemian Art Style I was inspired by recently. This card came about, when my lovely mummy saw the other cards I'd made in this style and was taken with the card which said 'Breathe in Peace, Breathe out Love'. She talked of it being rather perfect to give to her yoga teacher, yep, my 80 year old mama does yoga, she's all kinds of awesome! Anyway, if my mummy is going to give a card, it needs to reflect her, so I had to make this in her signature 'purple', her favourite colour. It was a joy to pull out the template I'd made again and whip this up for her this evening. I'm seeing her tomorrow and she'll have the card in time for when she next sees her yoga teacher.

I had another textured square card base in this beautiful dusky mauve colour, which worked perfectly with the Dusty Concord Distress Oxide Ink I used as the middle colour of this blend. I wanted a slightly darker base for this one, so added Villainous Potion to the mix too, but the heart of the blend is Dusty Concord. I used Lost Shadow again as the lightest hue. This colour blends so beautifully with these darker shades, I've really loved this blending experiment with this awesome new Distress Oxide colour. I made this very similar to the other version. I'll include a picture of that first card here for comparison.

I made a couple of subtle changes with the purple card, I chose a different stamp for the top stamp position, but really liked the way the other two looked, so repeated those. I added the bling over the stamped images on the purple one and I used a slightly different frame to diecut the panel. An older die from Whimsy, but one I still really love to use. I must say, I adore the blend on the purple version, it came out so beautifully and I'm sure my mum will love it when she sees it tomorrow.

These are the panels from the first play I had with this Bohemian style. I really loved creating this set and I'm glad I hadn't binned the template, it worked perfectly to ink up the purple version tonight. The mint tape is remarkably sturdy, I may get another couple of uses from it yet. Super easy to cut a new template however if it does give out. But so far, so good! I've stuck it to the plastic wrap back of one of the stamp sets, so the sticky remains 'clean' for reuse.

The other thing I did differently with this purple version, was I used a purple glitter pen from my Kaisercraft Glitter Pen Set, instead of the copper one I used for the earlier versions. I think it worked well on this to have the purple. I thought about using silver, but thought the purple blended with the hues so nicely and didn't create too great a contrast, which I felt the silver would have. I may have to make another one of this version as I really do love that purple combo.

I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure to share. I had great fun today creating a card as homework from the Online Card Class I'm doing this next two weeks, focusing on stencilling techniques. I'm keen to learn some new techniques and stretch my stash a bit. So far it's been such fun! See you again soon. Hugs, Wends xoxo
