Whimsy Stamps ~ Christmas Snowflakes
Hey crafty friends, I'm making up for lost time after having to take a crafty break while I was poorly and I'm working through my Christmas creations! Here are a couple of cards I made for my mumma who loves purple. She really enjoys giving cards I've handmade at Christmas time, so I did a little batch of cards for her recently using some of my favourite Whimsy Stamps Christmas elements.
Silver on purple, I think is very regal and very much what my mum enjoys because purple is her favourite colour. I've used a gorgeous dark cardstock from Concord and 9th called Eggplant for the card base and though it doesn't show well here, I've deepened the edges with some Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Ink too.
I've also stamped a sweet sentiment on the inside of the card as the dark purple card base needed lining for writing on. This sentiment came from a beautiful Whimsy Christmas Stamp Set called Glory To God. These little details are what my mumma loves so much, so I personalised these cards for her.
Both cards where made almost identical. The only difference was which part of the larger snowflake diecut I used, so that altered where I added some of the embellishments. The beautiful iridescent dew drops from This Calls For Confetti which Whimsy Stmaps stock, finish these cards so perfectly. They have a really pretty iridescent shine and look beautiful when the light catches them.
Thanks for popping in today, I hope you enjoyed these Winter Christmas cards, our Christmas is a Summer one, so I really need to pull out some Summer Christmas stamps, hehe, but I do love a Winter Christmas, it reminds me of our London years, which I loved celebrating Christmas in Winter there. I grew up with Winter Christmas imagery, so it 'made sense' having a Winter Christmas, but I do love a Summer New Year! I'll be back before long with another crafty adventure, until then hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
