Whimsy Stamps ~ Scandinavian Chic Christmas Tags

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with a couple of lovely Christmas tags which should have been sent off already to accompany some Christmas parcels headed to Sweden. But I've been really ill since Friday with a fierce tummy bug, so I've not yet got to the post office! Neither did I get to share these here on my blog. Though you may have seen them on Instagram. I am up to a tiny bit of laptop time today, which as I'm in isolation still, hubby thought might save my sanity.

I love Scandinavian design and Whimsy's Nordic Background Stamp is a real favourite of mine, so it was a no brainer to pull this out for a play, when creating these for our Scandinavian friends. I distressed the edges, added some Nordic Pine in a fabulous frame and finally the beautiful buck. I distressed the edges of the frame too just with some Walnut Stain Distress Ink, but the Nordic Pine or Birch as it may actually be, I simply cut from a pearlescent white paper and adhered inside the frame to create a simple forest backdrop.

I saw the amazing Nancy May use this beautiful frame on a Halloween Tag and it stuck with me how lovely it looked, so when I was thinking of making these tags, all the pieces just came together so easily. She's a constant source of inspiration and if you've not had the joy of watching her create, do check out her YouTube channel. I added some 'faux snow', because of course, it wouldn't be a Swedish Christmas without snow! One of my favourite memories of Sweden, is sitting in my pals kitchen in early December, drinking Glögg, laughing and sharing stories until the wee hours, whilst the snow softly fell outside. Magical!

I made 2 identical tags for the boys parcels and I hope they like them, because I sure do! Can you spot the Lindt ribbon and bells? If you know me well, you'll know I do love to recycle!! I always save the little wraps of ribbon and the bells from the kids Lindt Christmas and Easter Treats. So they were a cute way to finish these tags. Paired with a little black and white bakers twine from my stash which tied in the black Buck, I think the balance is just right.

We have had two wonderful releases now at Whimsy, the images from our November 1st Release are above and oh my goodness, seriously pop over and check out Crissy Armstrong's beyond adorable nativity scene! There are some absolutely magical elements in this release and I cannot wait to get my hands on some of it. I did have a parcel arrive just before I became unwell, but will have to wait to play for a few more days. I'll be Christmas crafting like crazy when I finally do get my hands on it! For now though, I've another catch up post to write, so I'll see you again shortly! Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
