Whimsy Stamps ~ Snowman's Snowball

Hey crafty friends, I've a cute creation to share with you today, which I've shared over on my IG page, but forgot to share here in the midst of my poorly days. This card features an adorable snowman image from Dustin Pike, he is so fun, because there are several different poses you can give his arms. I couldn’t resist after watching Tim Holtz make décor snowballs in his Holiday Hoopla, adding a little miniature one to this creation. I was given a set of the new NoFuss Masks to try out with this image and oh my goodness, I have to say, I LOVE them! Such a clever innovation by Whimsy, a real game changer if you like creating inky scenes, but don't love the fussy cutting! Which is me to a 'T'!

How cute is this snowman?! I decided to add his arms in a throwing action and added a little snowball which as I said, I was inspired to make after watching Tim Holtz make bigger snowballs for décor. I used a little pom pom as the base, covered it with Grit Paste Snowfall and a sprinkling of Distress Rock Candy Glitter. It has a very icy shimmer, it worked a treat!

I wanted the scene to have a snowy icy feel, so masked the snowman and added some trees using the fabulous Winter Wonderland Stencil from Whimsy. It was so easy to create with, once the NoFuss Mask was in place over the snowman. I’ve added some progress pics showing the amazing Whimsy NoFuss Mask, because honestly, these are a game changer!! My first try using these and let’s just say, I want them all now!

I used a second stencil to add some icy snowy sparkles to the white space. I used Grit Paste Snowfall over blue ink and added in the 'thin ice' element from the original stencil in blue ink. I wonder how long it’ll be before the snowman realises he’s standing on thin ice? His mischief may backfire?! I coloured the adorable snowman with Copic Markers after creating the background scene and added a few white highlights with a gelly roll pen.

I kept the card design very simple, just adding some washi tape down the side of the image panel and mounting it on a pale green card base. I paired the card with a brighter Green Envelope I had in my stash, to add a punch of colour. I think the varied tones of green worked well with the tree background. I didn't add a sentiment at the time I photographed this, I wasn't sure I wanted to, I may yet do so, but need to work out who I'm giving this to first.

We have an amazing Cyber Monday sale going on at Whimsy today. All digital stamps are 50% off! I love Whimsy's Digital Range, they have a huge collection and some truly gorgeous artist lines. Some of my favourites! Sylvia Zet, Crissy Armstrong, Some Odd Girl, Rustic Sugar, if you've not checked out their digital range, do have a look, it's amazing. Thanks for popping in today, I hope you enjoyed this cute Winter scene and I'll be back very soon with another Christmas make, I'm in crafty catch up mode now, so I'll be sharing a few creations close together. Hugs and happy crafting until next time, Wends xoxo
