Lili of the Valley ~ Tree of Friendship
Hey crafty friends, I hope your week is going well. I'm popping in quickly with a make from Lili of the Valley, which I made earlier in the year, but forgot to share! Life has been a little crazy again and it's not slowing down, so I wanted to take this quick opportunity to share this creation.
I used a lovely die frame from Whimsy Stamps for this card, it's the first time I've used it, but won't be the last! It creates such a lovely delicate design around the border, which I thought was perfect for this creation and looks lovely with the red cardstock showing through. If I recall correctly, I used the Cranberry Cardstock from Concord and 9th for this card, but it could have been their Poppy cardstock which is a slightly brighter red. Good alternatives for a deep red is Spellbinders Pomegranite or an alternative bright red is Spellbinders Poppy. Simon Says Stamp also has some lovely reds, Schoolhouse Red and Lipstick Red are also favourites of mine.
I've made this card with a stamp set from Lili of the Valley, released earlier this year called Happy Days. I just love how all the elements came together for this card. I've coloured the tree with Copic Markers in a gradient of colour, as if the sun is rising and hitting the high points of the tree. Fantastical, I know, but I love the effect. I added a few white gel pen highlights to the flowers here and there. I fussy cut the tree after colouring and popped it up on foam for a bit of dimension to this otherwise very CAS piece.
I've used a lovely older sentiment set from Whimsy Stamps called Distant Friends that I think works so well with this beautiful image. I stamped it with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink. It's my favourite for crisp sentiments.
Lili of the Valley has a new release out right now, full of gorgeous Christmas images, be sure to check that out over in their Lili of the Valley Etsy Store. I hope to be back with something from that release very soon.
I will be back with another crafty adventure before long, until then, have a beautiful day friends. Hugs, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. If there are two thumbnails for the same item, I have sourced it in different countries for you. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. I do not earn affiliate payments on my Whimsy Stamps links, these are just for tracking. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own. If you use my Whimsy Stamps links and it's your first time shopping with my links, you'll be offered a 10% discount, which is a cool treat. So my links cost you nothing, but may also save you a few pennies. This is a 'one time' benefit, great if planning a bigger first purchase.)
