Sweet Stampin' ~ Anything But A Birthday Card

Hey crafty friends. we have a new challenge that's gone up at Sweet Stampin'. This time we'd love to see your creations that are 'Anything But A Birthday'. I'm crazy busy right now, no time to think straight as it's my super busy season. So I'm falling back on an older make, which I've yet to blog. I made this lovely card for my eldest sister featuring a gorgeous stamp and stencil set from Pinkfresh Studio called Choose Hope.

I've used Nuvo Embellishment Mousses to add a little extra detail and dimension with the stencil. I love how it turned out. I wanted a pink mousse, which I didn't have, so recoloured my Toasted Almond Nuvo Embellishment Mousse with the inks I'd used for the base colouring. I think it turned out so well. I've used lots of splatter and Mica Stains on this piece too. So fun! Because I made this a while back, I couldn't tell you for certain which inks I've used for this, but I have a lot of Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks, so could have been those.

It's hard to capture the sparkle front on in this design, so I've taken a pic which shows the light hitting the sparkle from the side and you can see the shine far better. I cannot be sure which sprays I used on this make, but I think that more sheer one with the goldy hue is Tsukineko Rose Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz. It has a fine spray than other spritzes and mica stains I have, so pretty sure that's what that one is. I wish I'd waited until that spray was dry before adding the purple splatter, because it bled quite a bit. There's a blue tint from the side on the purple spray, which means that's likely a Lindy's spray rather than a Ranger Mica Spray. It will be the Witch's Potion Purple I have in my stash, because that is a purple with a subtle blue shimmer.

The sentiment comes from a foiled set of greetings that was an exclusive collaboration between Pinkfresh Studio and Scrapbook.com. For the stitched edge, I used an A2 Stitched Rectangles Die Set from Paper Rose Studio. I've layered the finished panel popped up on foam onto a pretty shimmery card base from my stash.

My big sis is amazing, she has a huge heart and does so much for our family, so this is a very appropriate sentiment for her. I love the way this card came together and it was given and received with much love.

Thanks for popping in to visit friends, I hope you've enjoyed this creative journey. Do check out the amazing creations made by my teamies over on the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
