Whimsy Stamps ~ Ghouls on Holiday

Hey Ghoulfriends, I'm back with another cute duo of Quick Card Fronts from Whimsy's Summerween Release. I am so loving this release, I got more than a little carried away with it all. I've made six fun cards with these Quick Card Fronts and this is the second set of two from the finished set.

I think these two panels are beyond adorable and have had the best time personalising and finishing each one up with a few fun extra details. The stamps sets really have so many fun elements you can add into the scene, though I must confess I have so many great Halloween sets from Whimsy Stamps, I've reached for a few of those to help me complete the scenes.

This panel is one of my favourites, I think this witchy is beyond adorable and her little unicorn swim toy is so cute! I didn't actually add much stamping to this panel, just the three little bats in the top right corner to add that definite Summerween feel. I used the Halloween Postage Stamps Set to stamp those 3 little bats.
The sentiment I took from the Quick Cards Set for this one. I thought it was a perfect panel to use the Happy Summerween sentiment on. I diecut it with one of the newer Quick Strip Die Sets. This is the number 4 set. I really like these sentiment set strips, they add such lovely details to the edges of a sentiment. I backed the strip with a strip of the lovely glitter cardstock I've used as the base to this card. This glitter cardstock is textured and gritty and reminded me a bit of sand! So I thought it was perfect to be the background for both of these designs. I diecut the panel with the wonderful Treasure Map Die Set from Whimsy. This added a cool torn edge finish to the panel. I wrapped some May Arts Ivory Twine around the lower section for a bit of texture and interest and added a cute bat flat back button on top to finish the design. Such a simple card really but may just be one of my favourites I've created with this Summerween Quick Card Fronts Set.

This next design is really so cute. I showed it to my niece and she can't wait to get her hands on these and have a play! She was asking if I'd show her how to make these, she's very artistic and will so enjoy a play with her aunty with these! That adorable ghost lost in his summer reading is just so fun! I pulled out the Good Fright Clear Stamp Set for the sentiment on this card and those little spiders come from that set too. They were the perfect addition to this scene for me. I used to fear the Katipo spiders on our West Coast Beaches when I was small. They live under the driftwood and in the dark spaces. They were the only venomous spiders in New Zealand when I was little, their redback cousin arrived in the 1980's via Australia, but both are mild bites and not fatal, just painful. The white tail spider also came across from Australia and though it has a reputation as a very painful bite, is not deadly, just painful. I thought of these Katipo spiders when I saw this scene and thought adding two of these wee creepers would be a great addition to this Summerween scene.

All the stamping has been done with the lovely dark and opaque VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink. The little bats were stamped from the Summerween Scream Stamp Set. I used the Wavy Pierced Rectangles Die Set to cut the fun frame for this panel and added it to an A2 panel cut from that fabulous textured glitter paper cardstock. This is from the Sizzix Ivory Opulent Cardstock Pack. It has such a wonderful mix of cardstocks and a really good amount of them too. There are 50 pages in the pack and five different styles of cardstock. I've really enjoyed using this pack.
