Sweet Stampin' ~ For The Boys
Hey crafty friends, I'm popping in tonight with a fun creation I've made for our new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. This time, our challenge theme is 'For The Boys'. So we're keen to see your creations made for the lads in your life. I had a fun creative adventure with colouring on black cardstock recently. This was just a playtime for me, while my mojo was AWOL, trying something different and new just for experimental playful purposes. But I ended up really loving how it turned out! I think it has quite a fun masculine vibe with the dark cardstock and can imagine giving this to my hubby. So this is my offering for our masculine challenge at Sweet Stampin'.
I stamped the image with white ink and then white heat embossed it. I used a mix of Scrapbook.com Glitter Brush Markers and Gelly Roll pens to add the colour details to the image. I used pens that had sparkle in them, but also the white marker which is more of an acrylic paint, so I was able to add some white details under areas I wanted the glitter marker colours to show better.
I diecut the black panel with the cool Wavy Pierced Rectangles Die Set from Whimsy Stamps and popped up the panel on foam adding it to a black A2 cardbase. I diecut the fabulous sentiment from a cool Quick Card Fronts stamp set by Whimsy. I just thought it worked so well for this creation. I added some black twine to complete the design for a simple finish. I diecut the 'Even The Dark Feels Lighter With You' sentiment with Whimsy's fabulous Quick Strips 2 Die Set. I love these die sets for sentiments, Whimsy has such a fun selection with lots of cool details for giving sentiments a little extra interest.
I hope you like my experiment with colouring on black. I really enjoyed creating this and found it really relaxing to do the colouring. We'd love to see your take on this masculine challenge. I love when we have these challenges, as I don't make enough masculine cards and it's fun to see other crafters takes on it. So I hope you join us!

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
