Whimsy Stamps ~ Peace

Life has had a pace lately that has me spinning like a whirling dervish but without the joy of it! I have been needing to step back and find some 'me' time, regroup a little bit. What nicer way to do that, than to sit and colour this beautiful 'Peace' image by Sylvia Zet. It was a calming relaxing exercise from start to finish! Just what my soul needed. We have just had such an amazing release at Whimsy, filled with imagery and dies that just speak to my heart. I love the retro vibes and hints to an era filled with Peace, Love and a gentler way to walk on the earth. So I've had such fun creating with this release. This card is the first I'll share and features some delish paper from the latest paper set released by Whimsy aptly called 'Retro Vibes'.

As with a lot of my makes lately, with our Wintery wet weather, I've not managed to capture the sparkle on this card in the stills. So I've shared a short reel on my Instagram account which shows the sparkly accents. The orange flowers I used were a really brash bright orange and I wanted to tone them down a little, so sprayed a touch of Distress Mica Stains in Harvest Moon and Burning Ember on three of them to bring a warmer deeper tone. I used just the Harvest Moon on the larger yellow one in the front.

There are some sparkly details on the image too and I used a mix of Kaisercraft Glitter Pens and Sparkle Gelly Roll to add these. I added dots of colour and sparkle to the centre of the flowers on the image, to the hair baubles, the stem of the flower and her necklace. The reel on my IG account shows the sparkle much better! So if you have an IG account too, be sure to pop over there to see the shine.

This is such a fun release, Whimsy really has done it again, with some super cool retro vibes! The brown and orange frames I used are from the previous release this month and as I said back then, I know I'll be using this set a lot! It's fabulous and has frames in several sizes. If you'd like some of the frames to have a 'middle', you can cut the layers apart in the die, and it will cut mats with a gorgeous border for some of the layers. But I really liked the way it cut multiple frames with one pass through the machine. So I've opted not to cut the layers apart.

Thank you so much for popping in to visit today. I hope you enjoyed my creation today. I have crafted like crazy with this release, so I'll be back again very soon with another crafty adventure until then, I wish you a lovely weekend and happy creative days. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Such perfect choice of papers and colours to complement this sweet image Wends, she's beautifully coloured too. There's nothing like a bit of quiet time, peacefully colouring, to relieve stress and calm yourself down when life seems too frantic. Take care, hugs xxx
