Whimsy Stamps ~ Goodbye Sweet Kitty

Hey friends, I have a sweet card to share with you today, that I made for a crafty friend who lost her beautiful feline friend just before Christmas. She's had a bit of a rough time around that, so I wanted to send some snail mail love and support.

I have combined several lovely elements from Whimsy to bring this card together. On the front of the card, I used a sweet Stencil set from Whimsy that can be layered to bring together some cute images for both cats or dogs. I chose the elements that reflected cats and stencilled them in different shades of brown Distress Oxide inks.

I added a sentiment from a lovely Whimsy Clear Stamp Set that is for pet loss called Paws to Remember. They actually have quite an extensive selection of beautiful sets perfect to make cards for friends who've lost beloved pets. I went for quite a monochromatic theme with this card. I've used the lovely Concord and 9th Paper Nutmeg from their Assorted Pack of 48 8.5 x 11 Colors of Cardstock for the base layer and cut the deckled edge on the image panel with my Tim Holtz Deckle Edge Trimmer. I popped up the image panel on foam for a bit of dimension.

I decorated the inside of the card with a beautiful image from another lovely Whimsy Clear Stamp Set called Love Has Four Paws. I stamped this in VersaFine Sepia Ink. I love the images in this set and have used the cute Terrier image for a friend who lost her sweet Sealyham doggie recently. So I'll share that card soon too. This cat image just melts me, it's so lovely and so perfect for this make. I used a sentiment from the same set to complete the inside of this card. I added a layer inside the card base which was also trimmed with my Deckle Trimmer. I did this rather than stamp on the card base, because the (new to me) card base I used from Unity Stamps is much lighter, more or a layering weight, than card base weight cardstock. So adding the extra layers made it a bit more robust.

My Whimsy teamies have created magic with the latest release which you can click through to on their examples above. Super cute creations and such a fun release. This year, Whimsy will be bringing their releases back together into one main release mid-month which will launch on the 15th of each month, with some smaller releases possibly earlier each month. Thanks for popping in to visit today friends, I hope you liked this creation and I hope my lovely friend who it's intended for will feel loved and supported when she receives it. I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure. Have a beautiful week! Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I've added thumbnails to make your shopping easier if you like any of the elements I've created with. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
