Whimsy Stamps ~ Third Card for the Valentine's Hop

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with my third and final card for the Valentine's Hop that's running this week at Whimsy. My third card is a bit of cheeky fun as it's an hommage to my love for coffee! Very tongue in cheek.

I created the base of this card the same way I did for my nephews engagement card, just with a similar, but different mix of papers. I distressed and layered them up the same way, though this time I used a thicker twine and I topped the design with the cutest take away coffee cup, an oldie but goodie from the Whimsy Stamps range of Dies. I also added some cute little white polymer clay hearts to this design.

I think this lil' coffee cup is the coolest and was perfect for the idea I had in my head for this card. I used the stamp set that pairs with this coffee cup die set to stamp out the 'coffee' word and the beans. I used VersaFine Clair ink in the colour Pinecone to do the stamping. I tore and distressed the edge of the kraft cardstock for a more rustic finish. I then used a sentiment from a different set, one that's actually themed around puzzles, but fit perfectly what I wanted to say out coffee! It tore the bottom edge of that one too. I just thought it would look cool and add to the rustic feel of the card. I distressed the edges with ink on both sentiment strips too. 

I know this is a silly take on the love theme of our hop, but oh so fun! I've got the perfect friend to send this too, who feels the same way I do about coffee! So this'll be winging it's way to her. I really love how both these rustic themed cards turned out. These papers are amazing and both cards were great fun to create.
