Sweet Stampin' ~ Love, love, love
Hey crafty friends, January has whizzed by in a blur and it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. We are having a 'Love' challenge. We'd love to see your cards that feature the theme 'love', it could be romantic love, love for a family member or a friend. Anything that conveys a message of love. I am sharing a card I gave to my mummy on her Wedding Anniversary. This is a bittersweet celebration now as it's a great many years since she lost her love, my daddy passed back in 2000, so we gather to share this day with her every year and celebrate our love for her.
I've made a card that features a really beautiful embossing folder from Gina K Designs called Tapestry. The pattern on this is so very beautiful. I sprayed the cardstock with water that had some Perfect Pearls dissolved in it, before embossing the paper for a touch of shimmer. I added some gorgeous real guipure lace in a deep purple and some paper roses in three hues of lavendar, which I sprayed with some iridescent shimmer. I tied some gold cord and added it behind the flower cluster. I also added some beautiful iridescent pearls from Trinity Stamps in the colour Glamourous Grape. They have such a pretty iridescent finish to them and I love this shade of purple, as does my mum!
I distressed a strip of white cardstock with some purple ink and added the sentiment stamped in a lovely dark purple ink from Pinkfresh Studio called Regal Kiss. The sentiment is from a Whimsy Stamps Sentiment Stamp Set called Sympathy So Deeply Sorry. This is a beautiful set and I've gone to it many times over the years to convey messages of support, love and sympathy. This is one of my favourite sentiments from the set. I have a few cards I've created with this set, which if you're seeking sympathy card inspiration, you could visit here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here. Hehe, told you I've used it lots!
We bought Mummy some beautiful flowers to mark the day, which were wonderfully in matching hues to the card I made, so I snapped a pic of the two together. It's been too many anniversaries without my beautiful daddy and these days are very special to spend together.
Thank you friends for popping in today. I hope you like my card and hope you'll come join our 'Love' challenge at Sweet Stampin'. Do pop over and check out the gorgeous makes from my teamies too, they're a very talented bunch! I'll be back with another crafty adventure soon, I've finished my holibobs and I'm ready to get back into things. So will be sharing a few makes in the next few days. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
